MuzikTyme
levis is the one that said Marie Antoinette didn't eat cake. The queen of France never would! A Queen is far too proper to ever eat cake, right? Heck, a queen never even goes to the bathroom! A queen is a king's worst mightmare. Just ask Henry the VIII! Viaene
Thanks so much for the help Brad! I'm gonna try a few more things and my last option will be a full reset. Actually it's been a few years since I did a complete format. Maybe I should do so, and install windows 7. I eventually did the format and installed Windows 7. As expected my computer works a lot faster and without pop-ups

Lea
Does anyone here use Google Chrome and would you recommend it? My daughter just started using it and loves it. Has anyone using it had any problems with it?
Levis
Sure, if Opera is being too elitist I go to Chrome, no biggie. (we're talking browsers, yeah?)
edna
I have Google Chrome but never tried it... I use Firefox, my husband likes IE...
Lea
I think she meant tool bar. I'm not sure. I'm trying to get her to start using Firefox instead of IE. I use the google tool bar myself but didn't know there were different kinds.
The Seeker
If you're into add-ons, Chrome is not for you, although apparently some are available now. But above all Chrome is fast performance and lots and lots of space, no unnecessary tool or status bars. So if you just want a simple, fast browser that hardly ever crashes, I'd highly recommend Chrome. (yes, I do get paid £10 per post for promoting Google. )
Lea
Thanks Fin. Last night she said her favorite thing about her laptop is that she put Chrome on it. I might have to give it a try
_Laurie_
I have a question also....when I was having browser problems I downloaded Firefox...I don't see how it was any better than explorer....so if I wanted to try Chrome...do I have to do anything like uninstall firefox and explorer?....or do I just download Chrome?....I have no idea on this stuff.... MuzikTyme
Depends, Laurie, on your brand name system. Most high quality computers will have (along with a lot of unnecessary drivel and rubbish) a "recovery" disc. This disc is the one (if you have one) that'll sweep all viruses, trojans/worms or whatever newfangled word they come up with out of your harddrive. My disc reads "recovery" but your disc might read something different. It's my last-resort suggestion. Good luck!
Levis
Or, more succinctly, no, Laurie you can run Chrome, Fx and IE all on the same system they don't replace each other or come into conflict.

MuzikTyme
Just using the word "succinctly" (it sounds like suck intentionally) reminds me of an oxymoron that couldn't decide which way to go at the fork. (hope it works, Laurie) succinctlyness . . . (if only I'd have left out the ellipsis and -ness)
Lucky
Question for Marc .... Does your father in law still act as well as perform his music? Because I am absolutely sure I saw him on a rerun of Cold Case last night. As soon as the actor appeared on the screen I yelled at Blues that it was your father in law. We waited for the ending credits, but the local station cut them. I'm positive that was him. Kinda cool, even if I don't know the man.
MarcM
If you are refering to "Tinker Bell", than yes, that was him! He has not done any acting for a few years, but he is still singing once in a while. He was always a little uneasy about that role, but he laughs about it now. Lucky
Yes! Tinkerbell! I thought he was great, it was a fun part.
