lonelyday
Do people in countries other than nz say 'nah' ?
Shawna
We saw "nah," but it might be pronounced differently than NZ. The way we say it it sounds more like "naw," and/or "na" with the "a" sounding the "a" in apple. By the way, good to see you again, Lonelyday! Farin
German too , I think it's especially common in Austria... mostly for a reluctant, irritated "no" "Well come on, get up, it's 5:30am already" "Naaaaaaaahhh, I don't wanna"
Levis
"5:30am already" Here it's more like a short, curt 'no' or a "n'est-ce pas" Edited November 24, 2007 by Guest suddenly realised...
Uncle Joe
In South Philly we say "nah" pronounced "nah" as in nag but drop the g. I have friends in Brooklyn who say it also, often doubling it up to "nah nah".

Levis
How old were you when you learnt to drive? I got some informal lessons at 17 and then there was a month of getting up at 6am to practice the summer I turned 18. If I can drive at that hour without killing anyone, I can drive anytime.
