bazooka
1. Hey Joe -- The Jimi Hendrix Experience .. an ideal introduction to what makes Jimi wondrous. 2. Midnight Rider -- The Allman Brothers 3. Back Stabbers -- The O'Jays 4. Omaha -- Moby Grape may be a bit obscure to most Songfactors. As Dappled notes, 8:05 is another classic. 5. Right Place (Wrong Time) .. probably his best known, but not my favorite Dr. John song (that would be Qualified from the same album) 6. Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof off the Sucker) -– Parliament 7. Long Tall Sally -- Little Richard 8. Dear Mr. Fantasy -– Traffic 9. Words -- Bee Gees 10. Night Train -- James Brown

Dappled
4. Omaha -- Moby Grape may be a bit obscure to most Songfactors. As Dappled notes, 8:05 is another classic. Lead guitar is played by Jerry Miller, who is number 68 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time. Farin
I think I'll leave it open for the night, because there could be some changes (numbers 7 - 10 have the same points) so I really hope we get those two voters in until then... c_s_1987
Here's an interesting point: the number one and two songs are both sort of like standards - they have both been recorded many times. Also, the versions at number one and two were both recorded a few years after the original. If you look at the Wikipedia page for Unchained Melody, you will see that there were once four versions of it in the British charts.

Shadows
Yay both of my nominations got in the top 10! Interesting though, because I was expecting Happy to do better than Cry Baby. They are both awesome songs though
