Farin Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 Do you want us to choose one, or do you want a list with hundreds of bands?
SoulGirl Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 it's waaaaaaaay too hard to choose just one but the main bands that i return to again and again are U2 and radiohead. oh it's like choosing favourite children - i feel guilty just hitting the 'add post' button!
NewYorkMets9 Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 My favorite bands are Led Zeppelin and the Beatles.
johnnyguitar Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 It might be better to start a thread along the lines of...'if you could only ever listen to one band ever again...who would it be?' I guarantee...if it was Mudvane you'd go completely mad with boredom and despair....oddly enough, personally, U2 would do the same to me....Radiohead I could probably stomach for a while (perhaps a goodly while)....but, just think about it....forever, forever, forever ....aaaaaargh!!
blind-fitter Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 It might be better to start a thread along the lines of...'if you could only ever listen to one band ever again...who would it be?' ....but, just think about it....forever, forever, forever ....aaaaaargh!! Hey johnny! Good to see you posting again. I've missed ya', bud! I was just about to suggest, for myself KILLING JOKE, but....hmmmm...forever and ever, amen??? I dunno 'bout that.
Batman Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 Well, my favorite band is probably Pink Floyd, but if you just asked who my favorite artist was I'd say Jimi Hendrix.
c_s_1987 Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 (edited) I feel I have to list a few in order: 1. Led Zeppelin 2. The Rolling Stones 3. The Beatles 4. Pink Floyd 5. The Who All British, as I expected. Best current band (judging on releases in the past 10 years): Powderfinger (Australian). Edited May 12, 2006 by Guest
OLD 55 Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 CeeCee put forward an idea for a Competition on this about 5/6 weeks ago GCdreamer. The Battle Of The Bands. We hope to get it active soon !
Levis Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 I CAN'T do it! I can never ever ever ever ever ever ever just pick ONE band! EVER!!! I can't even think about it... I DON'T LIKE THIS QUESTION!!! *whimper*
Levis Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 And isn't Mudvayne one of those screechy-screechy "bands"?
SoulGirl Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 forever and ever and ever and ever?! then it's have to be pink floyd or the beatles or something else. i'm with radhi - this question is too hard!
DiggsUK Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 If I had to choose just one Artist's catalogue to take to a desert island (with generator, Hifi, fridge etc) it would probably have to be Tim Buckley. I'd prefer the CDs to just the catalogue though, as paper tends to clog the slot...
edna Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 I CAN'T do it! I can never ever ever ever ever ever ever just pick ONE band! EVER!!! I can't even think about it... I DON'T LIKE THIS QUESTION!!! *whimper* Me neither. Yet...
Farin Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 ... and BADFINGER no seriously, I don't think I could choose just one group or artist to hear the rest of my life, it would just be unfair to all the wonderful musicians I love... oh it's like choosing favourite children Exactly!
johnnyguitar Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 I think that this is where these threads lose the plot....imagine you HAD TO...you've got only one choice and you've gotta go for it...you can't just sit there and say ''I just can't do it'.....would you let ALL your kids die rather than save one?....not a very sensible decision...you've gotta go for it! Otherwise, what's the point?
Levis Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 I don't HAVE TO do anything. My bands are not my children. I treat them much better than I would ever treat my children (ugh). If I had to save one 'child' as you say, I'd save the one that was best behaved and most sensible so that they'd deal better with the loss of their siblings.
invisible_r Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 i don't think I HAVE to, so i guess I won't make a decision for now!
The Seeker Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 Well I don't have to either, but I'll choose the Who.
SoulGirl Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 sophie's choice. could you choose to sacricfice your own life in order to save the catalogue of two great bands? i agree with diggs though, cds work much better than catalogues.
