MindCrime
skybluesky This summer I decided to bolster my music collection, and in doing so, discovered six artists I really like and want to follow - those artists are in red. In addition, I added to my collection of artists I have known and meant to explore further, but never got around to until recently - those artists are in blue. The rest of the artists in my P T T don’t get a lot of recognition on the boards, but I think people should know them - those artists are in green. The Decemberists, Travis, and Weezer, and Wilco are in my top bands, so I had to include them. I’ve also added some trivia questions as well, with the prize for answering being useless, arcane knowledge. [big]Please to enjoy my PLAY LIST[/big] At the Beach ~ The Avett Brothers ~ 2004 Man On Fire ~ Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros ~ 2012 Parachute Heart ~ Grace Potter and the Nocturnals ~ 2012 Ho Hey ~ The Lumineers ~ 2012 Ghosts That We Knew ~ Mumford & Sons ~ 2012 Love Love Love ~ Of Monsters and Men ~ 2012 I Go to the Barn Because I Like the ~ Band Of Horses ~ 2006 King Of Anything ~ Sara Bareilles ~ 2010 Wrapped Up In Books ~ Belle and Sebastian ~ 2003 I’m In Love With a Girl ~ Big Star ~ 1974 Psychotic Girl ~ The Black Keys ~ 2008 The Scientist ~ Coldplay ~ 2002 Let's Go to Bed ~ The Cure ~ 1982 One Of These Things First ~ Nick Drake ~ 1970 Shake It Out ~ Florence + The Machine ~ 2011 Innocent Bones ~ Iron and Wine ~ 2007 How Am I Different - Aimee Mann ~ 1999 Oh Comely ~ Neutral Milk Hotel ~ 1998 Thinking About You ~ Radiohead ~ 1993 I've Got Your Number, Son ~ She and Him ~ 2013 I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone ~ Sleater-Kinney ~ 2003 There Is a Light That Never Goes Out ~ The Smiths ~ 1986 Again & Again ~ The Bird and the Bee ~ 2007 He’s Not a Boy ~ The Like ~ 2010 P J Soles ~ Local H ~ 2004 Be O K ~ Ingrid Michaelson ~ 2008 Mona Lisa ~ Grant Lee Phillips ~ 2004 If I Could Write ~ Sam Phillips ~ 2004 Unsatisfied ~ The Replacements ~ 1984 Cannonball ~ Damien Rice ~ 2002 A Better Son / Daughter ~ Rilo Kiley ~ 2002 Song For Myla Goldberg ~ The Decemberists ~ 2003 Flowers In the Window ~ Travis ~ 2001 Island In the Sun ~ Weezer ~ 2002 Sky Blue Sky ~ Wilco ~ 2007 Trivia (click question to reveal answer) 1- Name the only artist to appear on all of my P T T’s.Wilco 2- Name the song that appeared on one of my other P T T’s .If I Could Write ~ Sam Phillips 3- One artist on my list has a TV show. There Is a Light That Never Goes Out ~ The Smiths ~ 1986 5. Island In the Sun ~ Weezer ~ 2002 6. A Better Son / Daughter ~ Rilo Kiley ~ 2002 7. Ghosts That We Knew ~ Mumford & Sons ~ 2012 8. I'm guessing that Wilco has appeared in the other PTTs and Sky blue Sky is the song that's been repeated. Carrie Brownstein (Sleater-Kinney) is obviously the one with the show (Portlandia). I can't answer the other ones off the top of my head.

skybluesky
I knew I would enjoy this one. I told Lucky it was like I had you and Ben in my head when I made my list I'm guessing that Wilco has appeared in the other PTTs. Sky blue Sky is the song that's been repeated. Yes on the artist, NO on the song. Carrie Brownstein (Sleater-Kinney) is obviously the one with the show (Portlandia). For that correct answer, I'm going to put a bird on you. PUT. A. BIRD. ON. IT! There were acutally FOUR artist on my list that have appeared on Portlandia.

skybluesky
Tim, I will appreciate your comment ironically. While wearing Bar Mitvah chic and skinny jeans. Actually, I have NO idea what hipsters do. Or wear. Or are. Edited August 23, 2013 by Guest

pinkstones
Justice Potter Stewart once said of pornography, (paraphrasing) "I can't define it, but I know it when I see it." Most people feel the same way about hipsters. We can't tell you what a hipster is, but we damn well know what one looks like if we see them. Picture a dude in jeggings, wearing snakeskin boots, a band t-shirt, a scarf, a Van Dyke beard and a fedora. That's a hipster.
