OLD 55
Well, that's good reason to nominate some real ones. Shannon, I love Rita Coolidge's 'Higher And Higher'. She also did a wonderful cover of Boz Scaggs' 'We're All Alone' (from his Silk Degrees Album), which you probably know.

OLD 55
I think you'd like it ! The song from the James Bond Movie "Octopussy", All Time High , is one of my favorites of hers too. Goodnight All ! Have a good Sunday.
Rayzor
Well, Shannon beat me to it, and that's what was taking me so danged long! Have a good one Darryl!!
Farin
It sounds like an S.T.D. : govinda in my ipod ! Hey, I'm not 'knocking' your songs. Don't be so sensitive That was a joke which (except for Ray) was completely unappreciated. S.T.D. is a Sexually Transmitted Disease, and 'govinda' sounded a little like gonorrhoea. I've decided not to become a stand up comedian after all. Coming in here just depresses me sometimes. What happened to FUN ? I think I already established that I have a peculiar sense of humour... don't be bothered by it please
OLD 55
No, that's fine Mate. I though S.T.D. mightn't be a term that you knew ! (Wouldn't really want to, would you ?). I wasn't really poking fun at the songs you said.
Farin
I knew what a STD is, I just didn't see a link between Govinda, iPod and STD

Farin
it would be strange if you had "Govinda" since that's the name of a deity

OLD 55
Sorry!!! I didn't know the religious significance. I really didn't know who/what 'Govinda' was.
Farin
just to avoid confusion, the song I posted is a semi-comedy song... not a religious one
c_s_1987
Rayzor, you're nominations are awesome and they have to stay. Dappled
The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine - The Walker Brothers (1966) If you look closely at the background of the video you can see that it was shot at the Carl Milles exhibition in Stockholm. Beautiful statues! If ever in Stockholm, visit the place. The original was made by Frankie Valli in 1965. Download and compare. Original version I Call Your Name - The Mamas & the Papas . Written by John Lennon, but first recorded by Billy J Kramer & The Dakotas in 1963. Edited July 23, 2007 by Guest

Farin
Word Up - Korn - Original by Cameo (I think) Cameo is right I actually thought about nominating Gun's version, but I believe Korn is more popular anyway
Lucky
Katie, Turn The Page is a great nomination! I almost used them both together a while back for the Top Ten, just to see which way the maddening crowd would go.
