actually the Animals' song is also called "See See Rider"

Good thinking Martin. You're quite correct (although I don't blame edna, because it's often shown as C.C. Rider). Here's the video See See Rider - The Animals

:)

It sounds like an S.T.D. : govinda in my ipod ! :P

Hey, I'm not 'knocking' your songs. Don't be so sensitive !!!

That was a joke which (except for Ray) was completely unappreciated. S.T.D. is a Sexually Transmitted Disease, and 'govinda' sounded a little like gonorrhoea. I've decided not to become a stand up comedian after all.

Coming in here just depresses me sometimes. What happened to FUN ? :P

Gallows Pole - Led Zeppelin (original by Leadbelly)

We Gotta Get Out Of This Place - The Angels (original by The Animals)

Gallow's Pole is another song that has complicated origins. It is a cover of the song Gallis Pole by Leadbelly, but Leadbelly's version is based on a very old folk song called "The Maid Freed from the Gallows". The version I have linked to is a Plant & Page unplugged version recorded quite a few years after LZ broke up. :)

My second nomination is almost certainly my favourite cover version ever. It just plain rocks!

I just noticed that my two cartoon character nominations were taken seriously!

Has anyone thought of putting in "House Of The Rising Sun" ?? Love that tune no matter who does it (other than Celine Dion)

and Rahdi.. leave my noms, they look cute up there

There goes one nomination of mine... do I still get partial credit if it makes it?

You´ll be sharing credit with me and you´ll get a special thanks... ;)

It sounds like an S.T.D. : govinda in my ipod ! :P

I got the joke, Darryl... it´s just that I spent the whole day away and I didn´t see the forum till this morning... :)

Thank you for adding that "SeeSee" Rider video... and you´re right, it´s The Animals... and Martin is right too, it´s not "C C"... and I still don´t know who did it first but I believe it´s a traditional song...

Hey Ray - how about real versions of cartoon characters' songs ?

e.g. Sugar, Sugar - Wilson Pickett - The Archies. :) Great version !

Thanks to those who thought my little joke was amusing. Nobody in my Family ever laughs at me, except when I'm being serious some times.

:P

I didn't nominate songs by two cartoon characters.

I missed that in your Post ! Eric Cartman out of South Park.

I don't know Stewie Griffin though. (Peter, my 24 y.o. tells me he's in The Family Guy.)

Nominate a couple of real ones if you'd like to.

Radhi won't mind.
