edna
I like that song... I would vote for it if we don´t have 35 amazing different nominations.. What about this one? "A big hunk o´ love" - Elvis Presley

Farin
^ that one's not bad either, is that a remix too or an original version?
edna
You mean "Big hunk o´love"? That´s the classic... the original. I had the record in the 60s... pure rock and roll...

edna
I know and like a lot "There´s no other way"... I don´t know the other song and it´s not bad but I don´t think I would vote for it...
Lucky
I like the first one! Not so much the second. It sounds early 80's, not my favorite period. By the way, that was what I felt about the Franz Ferdinand song. It was good, I like it, but it also had that early 80's feel to it.
Farin
the first is from 91, the second from 93 - it's rather funny with that one, from what I've read they didn't much like the American Grunge music from that time and felt the audience there didn't appreciate their music and so tried to write a song with a distinctive "British feel" to them, if that makes sense
TheLizard
Franz Ferdinand are great, The Darkness are decent, and who doesn't like Elvis?
Lucky
It does. What I meant is that they have a sound a bit like what you would have heard on early MTV. A lot of that music with a "British Feel". Does that make sense?
Farin
yes, it does but since, compared to America, I was practically raised with British music, I don't mind that "feel"

OLD 55
Here's the original 1968 version ofA Little Less Conversation. I've always thought it just lacked his usual spark. I'm not a big fan of the JXL remix either, although I'd probably put it in my Ten. A Big Hunk O' Love would definitely get my vote. I've had Wooden Heart on my Lista for zonks. Elvis missed a US #1 with it, because for some unknown reason it wasn't released as a single there, with Joe Dowell's inferior cover becoming #1. Here's the excellent original in a charming film clip from "G.I. Blues" in which he starred with Juliet Prowse. Wooden Heart.
OLD 55
Also, who else besides babyteen and I would like to see some Daryl Hall & John Oates' songs in the Ten Private Eyes Rich Girl Kiss On My List My 3 favorites of theirs.
edna
Hello, Sweet55... I wouldn´t vote for those H&O songs... I like their cover of "Family Man" and "Maneater", I know I liked some 45s but I don´t remember what they were... b-sides mainly. "Say It Isn´t So" was a good song... Levis
Standing Outside A Broken Phonebooth With Money In My Hand - Primitive Radio Gods I nominated this once before. It's one of those songs that got me without my realising it the very first time I heard it. I knew I liked it even though I'd just heard some 15 seconds. It hardly ever plays on TV or radio so I'm very glad I was at the right place at the right time. (And the comments to the video kinda say it all) Edited October 14, 2007 by Guest read the comments
