edna
My next nominations will be: "A big hunk o´ love" - Elvis Presley "The Salt of the Earth" - Rolling Stones I don´t like very much the Alanis Morissette song but I might vote for the Travis one... depending on the other noms, as usual... I wish I was a Punk Rocker (with Flowers in my Hair) ~ Sandi Thom Calling All Angels ~ Train Not my cup of tea...
The Seeker
I love Salt of the Earth... I bought Beggars' Banquet just for that one song. (and then of course I discovered Stray Cat Blues and Jigsaw Puzzle)
Lucky
edna, you've got votes from me for both songs... the Train song is good, but i'm kinda like Radhi, many of their songs sound the same. Radhi, love the Alanis one. I listened to that at the same time I was listening to these:
Lucky
I'm thinking of possibly something from Joan Osborne this week. She's a girl from Kentucky, and combines rock with blues in a fantastic way! Of course there is her big hit, from the album Relish... One of Us (love the Kentucky roots she shows on this) Son of a Preacher Man She does a great bluesy cover of this one
Lucky
I was also thinking of this George Harrsison cover of Dylan... If Not For You the song starts at 2:45 and Before You Accuse Me Bo Diddley cover Lots of covers from me this week it seems...

OLD 55
I didn't know that If Not For You was a cover... can't watch the video right now, but George Harrison's version is great. Shock, Horror Fintan. It was #1 here in Australia for our Livvie in 1971. I suppose it is 36 years ago, and I'm sure her version doesn't get played on anything other than 'easy listening' AM stations. skybluesky
Given my recent XANADU inspired fervor, I will vote for this
OLD 55
I was going to put Xanadu in the 'Soundtrack Albums' as my second pick, but with Family troubles I didn't get around to it. Lousy Movie - no plot (but I've still watched it about 10 times for the good scenes). Brilliant Soundtrack. Jeff Lynne is a genius.
skybluesky
Rush-Fly By Night
Dappled
The Move is fast becoming one of my favorite bands, their Shazam album is fantastic. Beautiful Daughter may be my nom for TT 87.
edna
I will be voting for The Move every time you nominate them... I still want to find "Looking through the eyes of a fool", i think it´s Wizzard actually, or just Roy Wood...

skybluesky
Lay Down (Candles in the Rain) made the T T, so I'm wondering if this has a chance-- Melanie-Look What They've Done to My Song, Ma
OLD 55
Sorry, I prefer Anglo/Australian group The New Seekers' version. And I couldn't get Brand New Key in... But, people may just prefer something more 'folky' from Melanie, so you never know ryansgirl.
edna
I would vote for Melanie...
