Farin Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 I didn't mean THAT kind of hot No fried sausages, fried bacon, hash browns or pancakes for us but hot bread rolls with (homemade) jam is major yummy btw, do the Americans still call them "Freedom Fries" instead of French fries?
katie_sane Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 What, no Vegemite? I have no idea. It's all just chips to us.
The Seeker Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 I knew few people who'd go through the hassle of frying stuff every morning...with the exception of porridge, but that's not fried (but hot). And not tasty either.
miamisammy29 Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 btw, do the Americans still call them "Freedom Fries" instead of French fries? A few restaurants tried that "Freedom Fries" crap around the time of the outbreak of the Gulf War, but it didn't last very long. Now they just call them what they truly are..."Cholesterol-Filled Sacks of Sh*t". I love em'!
Farin Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 ah yes, it was just that with all the talk about fries made me think of that again... and of course our News back then made it sound as if half of America refused anything called "French" (fries, bread, kiss whatever) and naturally they never made a report: "all is back to normal" either... not interesting enough
Elvish Posted February 23, 2007 Author Report Posted February 23, 2007 - I've missed you, Sammy! I'm having a Lemon Slush
MarcM Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 slice of bread - tuna w/Miracle Whip - Lays sour cream & onion chips - slice of bread. The combination of flavors and textures are heaven. Try it, already! I do not endorse any other chip/sandwich combo, as I have not come across a better combo for my taste.
Tenacious_Peaches Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 Under normal circumstances, that would sound good to me. However, I am not feeling well this afternoon, and reading that made me throw up in my mouth a little.
MarcM Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 Cool!!! Hope you feel better soon You aint prego, are you?
miamisammy29 Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 I'm drinking a 20-ounce bottle of Hillbilly P*ss (otherwise known as Mountain Dew). Ya feelin' any better now, Peaches?
Tenacious_Peaches Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 You aint prego, are you? Dear Lord, no.
Tenacious_Peaches Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 Thanks, Marc! I'll let Elvy be the knocked up one around here.
miamisammy29 Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 Are you sure you weren't knocked up by Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband? Most everybody else was.
Tenacious_Peaches Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 It's entirely possible. I'm sure if I was married to Zsa Zsa I'd be knocking up as many broads as I could, too.
miamisammy29 Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 It's entirely possible. I'm sure if I was married to Zsa Zsa I'd be knocking up as many broads as I could, too. Not me. I'd probably never be able to perform again. (insert limp, hurling graemlin here)
TheLizard Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 of course we have them, but we use the French name: Pommes Frittes (fried Potatoes) One of the few phrases I remember from the three years I spent in Germany. That was 1st through 3rd grade, so fries were very important to me.
Farin Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 Einmal Pommes rot-weiss! one of the most important phrases for a German child :laughingh:
_Laurie_ Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 I am having a ham and cheese omelette, wheat toast with strawberry jam, and coffee...
