Levis Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 ^ More like, I'd like whoever I become to be approved by UncleJoe < And by me too, of course, but that shouldn't be a problem v When was the last time you managed to injure yourself in the course of daily activity?
Uncle Joe Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 ^ Why, just this morning. I accidentally tried to climb the stairs leading with my left foot (as I used to do) and put a strain on my left quad that still hurts. Since the knee replacement I have to lead with my right when ascencing stairs, at least until I build up the left quad some more. < Rad-ji, you have already arrived at being someone of whom I approve...100%. I admire you greatly. v Any advice on building up my leg and returning it to its once awe inspiring strength?
_Laurie_ Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 ^ Hmmmm get yourself a pretty physical therapist to come to the house twice a week < Seems to work for my Dad V That's pretty good advice, don't ya think?
Shawna Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 ^ absolutely! Of course, that might also present reasons for not doing so well with the therapy... wouldn't want to look forward to the day when the pretty PT didn't come 'round anymore, right? > My Chargers are playing the Pats today. I don't want to be alone. V Do you get too caught up in sports teams sometimes?
_Laurie_ Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 ^ absolutely! Of course, that might also present reasons for not doing so well with the therapy... wouldn't want to look forward to the day when the pretty PT didn't come 'round anymore, right? Last week I went to see my dad....I said "so you're walking pretty good now, is the therapist still coming to the house?".....he said "Well, maybe in a week or two, I'll surprise her and tell her I can walk,.....she doesn't know yet!"....
MarcM Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 Not at all I lack the "Sports gene" Does this trouble you?
edna Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 ^ No. I hate sports. I only watch the Football (Soccer) Wold Championship every four years in case Argentina is the winner. And you? V
_Laurie_ Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 ^ I like baseball and football mostly < My girls played volleyball and softball....enjoyed watching them play during their school years V And you?
edna Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 ^ I played softball. I was good, I´m fast... I´m a bit afraid of sports, I always thought I could get a stroke or something due to excercising too much. I respect a lot my body. And you? V
The Seeker Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 ^ I'm not really afraid of sports, it just depends on which kind you're talking about. < and even though I did injure myself a few times playing football, my main sport, I only ever got more serious injuries (broken bones, torn meniscus which I fear really did damage my knee quite permanently) trying my hand at other kinds. v any sports injuries?
Epiphany Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 ^ A broken nose. v Like renewing two-month-old threads?
Farin Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 ^ sure < I think I did that with even older ones too v do threads only die because nobody likes them anymore?
The Seeker Posted April 26, 2008 Report Posted April 26, 2008 ^ Yes, mostly < But please don't talk to me about food right now... it's almost 3 am, I'm hungry, and I don't have anything to eat. v Food cravings in the middle of the night aren't such a good idea
_Laurie_ Posted April 26, 2008 Report Posted April 26, 2008 ^ I'm use to eating that late... < I don't get home from work till after midnight V What's your favorite snack?
edna Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 ^ Cheese and peppers. But I´m rarely hungry. Which means I´m part of the lucky people... You get hungry when you read the "what are you eating/drinking" thread. V
Uncle Joe Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 ^ Hell, I get hungry when I read a dictionary. < I like snacking late at night. v Do you wake up in the middle of the night and feel hungry?
Shawna Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 ^ No, I don't... but I've heard that Prince Ambien is supposed to bring that side of me out. > The prince must be asleep, because it hasn't happened yet. V What time of day do you usually get most hungry? Or the worst cravings for things that aren't good for you?
edna Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 ^ In the morning, while I´m at work, I can´t wait for my next break to eat a sandwich. But then I come home late and I m not hungry at all and my husband says I act childish eating crap during the day and refusing to have dinner. Don´t hate to eat a lot at night? V
Floydaholic Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 ^ Nope, not at all. < I seem to be sad more than I am happy at the moment, since school is really tearing me down. V What's your worst school experience?
Uncle Joe Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 ^ Asking Joannie to the prom and getting shot down. < Joannie made it up to me later. v Your happiest experience from high school is:
Shawna Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 ^ Graduation Day. > I could tell you what my really happiest memory from high school is, but you'll have to wait for the book. V Have you ever tried to write a book?
Uncle Joe Posted May 1, 2008 Report Posted May 1, 2008 ^ No, not yet. < Just some short stories and newspaper articles...not to mention some great advertising copy. V And you?
Shawna Posted May 1, 2008 Report Posted May 1, 2008 ^ Yes, actually. > Not hugely successful at it, since I seem to think of new ideas, and thus begin new stories all the time and never finish the stories I'd started. V Do you finish everything you start?
