skybluesky Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 These people are Japanese. My friends' daughter lives next door to them. But you still didn't say what sake tastes like, and I'm not asking about the swill you make in your bath tub.
Kevin Posted August 19, 2008 Author Report Posted August 19, 2008 (edited) ^ see above And I am too much of a gentleman to ask about your bathtub . Edited August 19, 2008 by Guest
Kevin Posted August 19, 2008 Author Report Posted August 19, 2008 Why doesn't Ryansgirl show herself when she is online ?! Troubles with Homeland Security , perhaps ?! Istanbul -indeed !
skybluesky Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 Thanks Kevin. For answering my sake query and leaving my bath tub out of conversation. I probably won't try one of the drinks. I'm not fond of wine. The restaurant has a sake mojito, a sake/peach drink, and one with multiple fruits. I'll just stick to margaritas.
_Laurie_ Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 I'll just stick to margaritas. That a girl!
Kevin Posted August 19, 2008 Author Report Posted August 19, 2008 (edited) Good call ! However , you realize that agreeing with Laurie makes you even dorkier than you were before ... Edited August 19, 2008 by Guest
skybluesky Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 I'll take that risk. I like Laurie and all her salamilicious ways.
MarcM Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 Why is there no sake in Kamikazes? The drink, not the pilots. The pilots actually did drink sake before their one way trip. Hey, dont forget about the incendiary bat bombs. Real bats. Real weird.
Viaene Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 Any John Denver fans here? I like country roads but not enough to go check out his other songs I guess
Steel2Velvet Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 I like country roads but not enough to go check out his other songs I guess I carry the JD banner. Rocky Mountain High is vying for a spot on my Personal Top 50. Another, Thank God I'm A Country Boy, is rich with imagery and has been a favorite since first heard. Annie's Song (Come Love Me Again) is an enduring melody/lyrical gem. Aye Calypso makes the listener feel they are in the Zodiac zipping over the ocean toward some new adventure. Denver was a hell of a writer!
Lucky Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 I've always liked JD. For a while it fell out of fashion to be a fan of his music, but the man had a great talent, one that we were deprived of too soon. On another note ... I've got a question. Is it possible to be spammed on your cell phone? In the past 2 days i've recieved 18 text messages to call random 800 numbers. Or is it some evil plot by someone I know?
Shawna Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 Lucky, my son gets those types of messages all the time. I never do. I have no clue why he gets them, but he's always asking me, "Mom, what's this mean?" Text spammers.
Levis Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 Forgive me for asking the obvious, but have you given your number out online by filling up a form or something?
Kevin Posted August 21, 2008 Author Report Posted August 21, 2008 Good point ,or , has your PC/cell been infected by spyware , possibly ? You can check for it .
Shawna Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 Crikey, my kid may have given his out. Kev - how do you check for spyware on your cell phone?
Kevin Posted August 21, 2008 Author Report Posted August 21, 2008 I don't know- I don't have one . But if yours is anything like the ones here , people plug them into their PC via a USB cord and that may allow you to do it . I'm sure others have better info re. this , though .
Levis Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 I don't think it's a bug though... more likely the number given out or picked up online. If the messages are all from the same number, you could call up your operator and ask for it to be blocked...
Viaene Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 Some mobile phones have an option to block phone numbers. Otherwise, follow Levis' advice and contact your phone company
Shawna Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 well... we don't have phones that are fancy enough to hook up to the computer (ours are POS's). And I've talked with T-Mobile about it in the past, and they tell me they have no way of blocking text messages. They can block calls, but not texts. But then, that's TMobile, and if my hot water heater had not needed replacing, I would have been rid of them by now.
Lucky Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 I have T Mobile as well. There were some texts to call the same numbers, but there were probably 6 or 7 different numbers. I've not given my number out to anyone/thing new. Just the same old bill pay things etc, and I hope those sites are secure. That's it, as far as I know. It makes me mad, I don't have an option to "delete all" and have to go through them 1 by 1.
Lea Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 Try putting all your cell #'s on the National Do Not Call Registry. https://www.donotcall.gov/register/reg.aspx Some will still get through, but if you tell them your registered if they have a brain they should stop. Works for both home and cell The site will tell you how it works. I got the link from KATU News I think. It's just for US citizens tho. Sorry my European friends
Blue Fish Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 I have T-Mobile. They blocked text messages for me and I can't call 0800 numbers eaither from my phone....I don't know if they can call me though....
Shawna Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 Lea - I have registered all my numbers with Do Not Call... evidently it doesn't work for texts. Bloof - they can block all text messages, but not ones from specific numbers or spammers.
