Uncle Joe
There's no such thing as Dr. Seuss and Mother Goose is no nursery rhyme
Farin
Baby, instant soup doesn't really grab me Today I need something more sub-sub-sub-substantial A can of beans or blackeyed peas, some Nescafe and ice, A candy bar, a falling star, or a reading from Doctor Seuss... lonelyday
I always lived in cities witth no less than 6 million people... I wonder what it would be to live in a peaceful place like those you live in... My whole country doesn't even have 6 million people! I found it really wierd in Spain how most people lived in apartments around the main town centre and pretty much no one lived rurally. I live in Auckland which I'd say would be the most populated city in New Zealand but everything is quite spaced out so we have room to breathe Edited February 12, 2007 by Guest
Farin
that's because of the historical development of the cities in the "old world" medieval cities needed to defend themselves, surrounded by walls etc, and once the walls were in place, nobody really wanted to live outiside of them, so of course it was pretty crowded in the cities
Uncle Joe
Walls, to keep people in rather than out. Brilliant!
edna
I found it really wierd in Spain how most people lived in apartments around the main town centre and pretty much no one lived rurally. There´s lots of people who live in the country, in small villages, in houses around town too... not in the city, sure.
Shawna
I've always tried to avoid the city. I know some people who would never live in a country setting, they have to be in the dead center of all the people. I like the solitude of a less crowded environment. edna
I like the solitude in the cities on a Sunday at 8 am... or when there´s a soccer match on TV so there´s nobody on the streets. I love the sound of silence...
The Seeker
I like walking through a big city at night, walking past houses and thinking of the unconscious people in there and feeling like I'm the only person still awake.
edna
I do that too... And I love to watch the buildings and the windows with the lights on, and imagine how life must be for the people living there... Trouble in Spain is you find so many people on the streets at night... this town barely sleeps...
lonelyday
Barely sleeps? Does Madrid ever ever sleep? I'm pretty sure we went out on a Thursday night and it seemed like a Saturday night because so many people were out there. Mind you we were apparently in quite a 'rough' area...and it doesn't seem to me like the Spanish sleep a lot wherever they live.
edna
Madrid doesn´t sleep at all, you´re right... and when they sleep they do it in the morning... or a nap after (huge) lunch.

Kevin
Well ,they made such a mess of the last try ... I just thought maybe they'd wanna redeem themselves ... I also think they'd have the element of surprise on their side , as well !
Farin
the last try? wasn't that in the 16th century with the Great Armada? well on the other hand that should have given them time enough to work out a good invasion plan

edna
Now, this has nothing to do with Gibraltar nor anything like that. I need to hire a killer, a mercenary, I googled but couldn´t find. Do you know where I can find one? or maybe I should post this in the Q&A thread?
