Ok I have been searching for 5 minutes now and I am getting frustrated, I know there is a thread on SF about songs with awesome keyboards. I searched under keyboards, piano, anything close to that and can't find anything. Does anyone remember the name of this thread?

Jane, I can't remember what it was called, but I know what you are talking about. I thought Chris/Roger/Dave/Aunt Acid started the thread, but I couldn't find it under his username. Who else would start a thread about keyboards? I'll keep searching. Between the 3 brain cells we both share, we'll find it eventually.

I found these, but don't know if they're what you're after:

I think it was started by bazooka

Jane,

I didn't start the thread, but I know what you're talkin' 'bout. It was 'Songs with kick booty piano & keyboards' or something of that sort. When somebody started another very similar thread, I pointed it out and they may have been merged. But they seem to be lost in the ether now.

I've tried various searches to no avail.

I remember that now bazooka...I am looking for songs for my show on Friday. I am doing a whole show on songs with great keyboards in them and there were a lot listed in that thread. Thanks for everyone's help. I thought maybe I imagined the whole thing, and I wasn't even on drugs!

I have a question for all the songfactor parents. I need potty training advice. You can give it here or you can PT me. My daughter is three and can go #1 on the potty, but has no interest in #2. I have tried rewards (food and non-food), putting her in undies, offering her a toy if she does, etc., and so far nothing.

HELP!

Jenny, is she afraid of going #2 in the potty? She might not want to tell you, but try asking. I remember keeping up with when she went #2. I would then put her on the potty before that time. Sometimes it took a while for her to go, but when she did, I made a big deal of it, calling her a "big girl". We also had an Elmo potty book that we would read while she was sitting on the potty. That helped take her mind off of it and not put so much pressure on her to go. Here's a site with more tips. I hope this helps you.

Jenny...I have been going through the same thing. My little miss was just about trained back in January and she just quit all together at home and school. So we just didn't hassle her about it, well then she started to go #1 but never poop. I did the prizes, money, anything I could think of, but nothing worked. Finally she said she wanted a Sponge Bob potty. I went and bought her one that fits on the big potty and now she gets mad if you take it off to use the bathroom, she says that is her potty! She still has an accident every now and then, but she is doing much better. And I still have the bag of prizes and she only gets one now if she poops. Our doctor said don't push and they all learn in their own time, but as a parent it is just so frustrating. I haven't taken her out of pullups just yet but she has been asking for the little girl underwear so I guess that will be the next step. All this and the cranky 3's...but would not trade a moment, no way! :)

Thanks, Peaches and Jane. I know I'm not alone, but daycare is pushing.....I have given up on prizes and bribes because she was going to get a prize and not listening to her body.

When I change her, she says, "What are you supposed to do on the potty?" so she knows what she's supposed to do...she is also going through a very defiant stage right now, so it becomes a power struggle, too.

Most people are telling me to just lay off the pressure and let her be. She has special potty seats and a whole drawer full of underwear....

I will try the book idea and the website, though, the more I know, the better.

We're new to the whole PT process, but already have a couple books and an Elmo Potty Time DVD. Nicholas is a huge Elmo fan and loves the DVD.

Here's another link for you about other kids in her specific situation:

Jenny, you are welcome. I understand your frustration and mine is doing the power struggle with everything. At first when she was doing well with the potty I was all excited and then when she stopped it really bothered me. I kept thinking I wasn't being the best parent I could be, but talking with other Moms and the doctor helped me a lot. And to think, someday they are going to be teenagers and we will look back on this and think it was a breeze! :)

Jenny, don't let anyone pressure you into thinking there is a certain age for pottying. You tell the people at the daycare to go **&% themselves. You are paying them, so they should do what you tell them, not the other way around. The daycare that Ally goes to won't let a child move up to the next class until he or she is completely potty trained. Who cares about moving up in daycare? It's not like the kids are working on an important thesis about the modern day relevance of Nietzsche, for criminy's sake. They aren't going to miss anything by not moving up, but the daycare people like to rush things. The general age for potty training is between 2 and 4. It depends on the child. She seems to be halfway there, and that's just great. If you feel the pressure, then she will sense that from you and resist. It drives me insane when outside people place rigid timetables on us mothers when logic dictates that every child is different.

Keep on keepin' on, Jenny. You are doing a great job with Samantha. She'll get it when she's ready to get it. Did you ever in your life think that you would pay so much attention to poop?
