OLD 55
Good on you Laurie and Lizard ! You're great supporters of the Top Ten. You only got one song each right though. I had a heap, as usual, on my first run, but I ruthlessly cut a swathe through them.
OLD 55
You never cease to surprise me Lizard. How the heck do you know "Luck Be A Lady" from the 50s Musical "Guys And Dolls" ?
TheLizard
For one thing, I love Frank Sinatra. Also, my old school did Guys and Dolls last year. They did pretty good, actually. Obviously there were no Frank Sinatra level singers in little ol' Steilacoom High School, but they held their own.
OLD 55
Sounds like fun ! You most likely had a better singer playing the part of Sky Masterson than Marlon Brando in the 1955 Movie version. Frank Sinatra was brilliant as Nathan Detroit. Now if you'd nominated "Adelaide" I'd have voted for that.
TheLizard
The guy who played Sky at my school could hold his own when he was singing alone, just because he put a lot into it. Unfortunately, when his part called for him to harmonize, it was painful.

Jenny
I don't mean to stoke the fire, but I have liked these last two Top Tens the most....I think we've really expanded our nominations, and we're honoring songs that may have gotten ignored in the past. Mine noms are a mix of a little old and a little new: 1. Landslide - Fleetwood Mac 2. The Joker - Steve Miller Band 3. Would I Lie To You? - Eurythmics 4. Tush - ZZTop 5. Can't Help Falling in Love - Elvis 6. Bang & Blame - REM 7. Once in A Lifetime - The Talking Heads 8. I Need A Lover - John Cougar Mellencamp 9. Basket Case - Green Day (do you have the time to listen to me whine?) 10. Stay - Lisa Loeb & Nine Stories "Guys and Dolls" is one of my favorites, too...I like "Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat"
