Levis Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 All right, it is taking TOO long to load so I'll take your word for it, Farin, because that's where I'll get into the swing again.
Farin Posted June 20, 2006 Author Report Posted June 20, 2006 Edna, you need a flash player to let it work, maybe you don't have one? It takes long to load? But there isn't any big, fancy stuff in it. Even with dial-up it shouldn't take more than a few seconds... Maybe the server was busy, because Germany was playing, oh that reminds me Germany won 3:0 against Ecuador!!
edna Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Congrats, Farin! Keine flash on my mac, I´m on the PC now, I see... Nederland vs Argentina tomorrow...
phil Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 I bet the Italians & Chech's have a "gentlemenly" tie to eliminate the USA. Just a hunch.
Farin Posted June 20, 2006 Author Report Posted June 20, 2006 I bet the Italians & Chech's have a "gentlemenly" tie to eliminate the USA. Just a hunch. No, I wouldn't think that, because neither is surely in the last 16. Italy has 4 points, Czech Republick and Ghana both have 3. That means if they play a tie and Ghana wins, then the Czechs are out. If the Czechs and Ghana win Italy is out. If US wins and Italy beats the Czech Republic, then USA gets in the KNockout stage...
Uncle Joe Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Not if Chong has anything to say about it.
DiggsUK Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Well Farin, looks like the clash of the titans has been avoided (for now). Probably a good thing with Owen out...
johnnyguitar Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Edna, you need a flash player to let it work, maybe you don't have one? I think that might be a motif for the World Cup...you need at least one 'flash player' for it to be in the slightest bit entertaining...way to go Joe Cole...the rest was dire.
DiggsUK Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Stevie G wasn't bad... I agree though, its a good job we have an 'easy' tie in the next round...
Lucky Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 Wasn't Cole amazing? Definately the player of the game. That boy played hard. As did Rooney, nice to see, other than the hissy fit at the end... Did you see Owens' knee? At officially 4 minutes, but it happened at 1:12 exactly. I looked at the clock. That hurt.
phil Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 Thanks for clarifying the bracket for me Farin.
MarcM Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 So who is left? We have been notified that we are on "Tactical Alert" due to the potential for rioting. There have been mini riots for the last few years in South LA if a Central or South American team wins (or looses, for that matter.)
DiggsUK Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 Sounds like you are on a hiding to nothing there, Ossifer.... Argentina are playing right now, so prepare for a corned-beef riot... lol
edna Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Argentina-Nederlands: 0-0 I´m being told both played fine but they were just lazy, they knew they will play next rounds anyways...
Farin Posted June 22, 2006 Author Report Posted June 22, 2006 It was a boring match. I didn't even watch all of it, both let some of their best players on the bench... but anyway: today is a big day for both the USA (vs Ghana) and Australia (vs Croatia). Both still have chances to get to the last 16 (even though Australia's a bigger)
Farin Posted June 22, 2006 Author Report Posted June 22, 2006 I just stumbled across these Impressions from the so called "Public Viewing Areas" Photo Gallery (I hope the link works) Just imagine 500,000 people coming together to watch a game on TV...
Farin Posted June 22, 2006 Author Report Posted June 22, 2006 Could you imagine what happens, when you change channels to a Soap Opera? I would think the ten thousands wouldn't be too happy...
Farin Posted June 22, 2006 Author Report Posted June 22, 2006 and it's not looking good, Ghana leads 1:0...
Crazy Don Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 It's all over for the Americans as they fell 2-1 to Ghana. Looks like the US is a real Ghana from the World Cup…
