OLD 55
yeah, well, if your song only gets 5 points or 4 points, like a couple of mine have, you get disappointed! Rachel, please don't feel despondent. I don't think most of us nominate just to make #1. If I wanted to do that I'd just put "Satisfaction" and bingo there it would be. Stones and Beatles big hits are always going to do well. I thought it was great to see a couple of their album tracks, Gimme Shelter and In My Life, which weren't released as singles in the U.S. to the best of my knowledge, make #1 on our Tens. Top Nominations ! Most of us nominate for variety, and your nominations do help to give us that ! P.S. One of my nominations got zero points - I either forgot to vote for it or saw 10 I liked better! OLD 55
The Tracks Of My Tears - Smokey Robinson & The Miracles. (I remember it in The Big Chill Which movie was it from? Thanks bluesboy. I didn't realise it had been in so many ! This is a new Movie (here) starring Queen Latifah titled "Last Holiday". Apparently it's a remake of an oldie. She's told that she only has 3 weeks to live, so she cashes in all her savings and decides she'll live it up. Smokey was appearing at a high class Hotel she went to, and sang it (although very briefly). A great movie ! First one we've seen since "Walk The Line". RonJonSurfer
You may have seen my past raves about Bowie's "Pin-Ups" Album...complete with Bowie and Twig The Wonderkid (Twiggy) on the cover. These are Bowie's favorite Mersey era songs including Sorrow, The Shapes of Things, where have All The Good Times Gone, See Emily Play, Here Comes The Night and more...the bonus CD tracks include Springsteen covers too. A must own album for classic rock fans. I had to add this to the conversation...
