Mykul
no one's mentioned Morphine yet, the song is "gone for good" I'm never going back never going back to you I'm never going to see you again I'm never going to dig out your picture I'm never going to look you up someday Life is very short You don't love me anymore So I'm never going to see you again I'm never going to write you a letter Never going to call you on the phone I'm never going to drive by your house I'm never going to catch you coming outside Never going to walk up your walk And ring your bell And feel you fall into my arms I'm never going to see you (x2) I'm never going to see you again Your gone for good listen to the song, it makes the lyrics much more powerful

MuzikTyme
Here's a song that's pretty sad, it goes something like this: It's the sad song I'll ever write for you It's the sad song when I tell you Just how much I really care It's the sad song... Wait a minute, that should be Last Song, not sad song. Nevermind. But you gotta admit, this song is pretty sad and I hope it was his (Edward Bear) last song for real. :: Did you know I'd go to sleep And leave the lights on Hopin' you'd come by And know that I was home and still awake But two years go by and still my lights on This is hard for me to say But this is all that I can say It's the last song I'll ever write for you It's the last time that I'll tell you Just how much I really care This is the last song I'll ever sing for you You come looking for the light and it won't be there But I love you, oh, yes I do, yes I do All the times that I've spent waiting Wondering where you are Always knew the time would come When I would start to wonder why Now the time is here I don't know where you are So I'll write you one more song But it's the last time that I'll try It's the last song I'll ever write for you It's the last time that I'll tell you Just how much I really care This is the last song I'll ever sing for you You come looking for the light and it won't be there But I love you, oh, yes I do, mmm mmm It's the last song I'll ever write for you It's the last song I'll ever write for you It's the last song I'll ever write for you It's the last song I'll ever write for you It's the last song I'll ever write for you

XXX
subterranean homesick alien - radiohead fake plastic trees - radiohead creep - radiohead lucky - radiohead Yes, yes, yes, and yes. quiet heart - kent kevlar soul - kent Wow! You must be the only other person in a music messageboard other than me who's listed Kent! Indeed, they have recorded some fairly sad and depressing songs. I'd probably say that the whole Isola album is one sad opus emanating from Scandinavian weather. I can think of three songs off the top of me head: "Om Du Var Har," "Oproffesionell," "707" but the entire album keeps that consistent sound. wicked game - chris isaak/HIM Awesome! Lotta people mention this song although he's recorded other stuff that's up to par if not better than this one, it will always remain an all time classic from the 80s, of love songs, of sad songs, of favourite songs period. I'm suprised not many have mentioned The Smiths

Earth-Angel
Funeral in the rain - Chris Isaak Lie to me - Chris Isaak Crying in the rain - AHA There is this old song and I don't know who sings it, but it goes something like "do you think I would leave you dying, when there's room on my horse for two?" I actually get shivers thinking about it - it has to be the saddest song. It's about 2 friends that have known each other since childhood going to war and being on the battlefield, and the one is shot down and his buddy tries to save him. It draws the parellel bewteen them playing solders as children and then the one dying in front of the other in war. Man, that one gets me howling....
