Train I ri-ide, sixteen coaches lon-ng.

#2 Mystery Train - Elvis

Correct, OLD 55

I was sure you would know it!

I also like the cover by The Paul Butterfield Blues Band.

Number 4 wouldn't be bazooka's music of choice. It's a Country song that started as a 'B' side, but has come to be considered a classic ( 80 on one list of The 500 Best Country Songs of All Time ).

I found recent news about an upcoming album from two lengendary Country Music artists, swapping favorite songs originally recorded by the other. Number 4 is among the songs selected.

4. Airfoils ‘shining in the sunlight’ (taking a haggard lover away)

CeeCee, you are Correct on number 4.

I'm not familiar with the Doors song, but from the lyrics I find, it seems to 'borrow' heavily from both Mystery Train words & music by Herman "Junior" Parker* & Sam Phillips and from People Get Ready written by Curtis Mayfield.

from Wikipedia:

Mystery Train was a 1955 single recorded at Sun Studios in Memphis, Tennessee by Elvis Presley, his first #1 single in any of the Billboard charts, reaching #1 in the Country music chart.

Mystery Train was originally recorded for Sun Records by *Little Junior's Blue Flames in 1953.

Easy theme, anyone? The title of a 1987 movie.

Had a hard time with 'plane' songs. I might have included Leaving On A Jet Plane by Peter, Paul & Mary, but I couldn't bring myself to use Snoopy vs. The Red Baron ( hate it ).

Of course 'train' songs are easier ( Orange Blossom Special , Love Train , Peace Train , Crazy Train , etc. )

And there's tons of 'automobile' songs ( 409 , Hey Little Cobra , Hot Rod Lincoln , Pink Cadillac , Little Red Corvette , etc, etc. )

Attention Rednecks ... oops, I mean Country Music lovers:

Here's the story on that (>) Haggard collaboration I hinted at earlier.

das got 3,5,6 and 9

Peaches got 1 and is the closest with #2. The title is the same, but it's from a couple of "blue-eyed soul" singers from Philadelphia

Nope, Malakin, even though that's a good idea.

So, 2,4,7,8 and 10 are still up for grabs.
