Earth-Angel
I believe it is used for the trailer for the new Reece Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo movie, "Just like heaven".
TheTallOne
I don't know where it's from, but i love this song because it perfectly describes my situation (i.e. girl that I love but never will get).
blind-fitter
I believe it's from deep, deep down in the bowels of Hell...
Tenacious_Peaches
I'm with you on that, b-f. That voice makes me want to kill myself and/or everyone around me.
SoulGirl
I believe it's from deep, deep down in the bowels of Hell... oh my god - when i saw the subject line, i came onto thread to type almost the exact same thing!! it's not as painfully depression-inspiringly awful as 'goodbye my lover' though, good god in heaven i hate that song! DrCowbell
I don't know. I appreciated the sentiment of what I first thought the song was about: how you just meet someone randomly passing you by and there is this instant attraction, this, damn why does he have to get off the bus as I am leaving it? Or something like that. But then he said it was about an ex-girlfriend, and how he saw her randomly with a new boyfriend one day, and while yeah it happens all the time that we pine over failed relatonships, I liked the first interpretation of the song I had better. His voice is quite distinctive, but I don't think I'd want to hear an album's worth of it.
invisible_r
His voice is quite distinctive, but I don't think I'd want to hear an album's worth of it. i find it very annoying! when he starts with the "you're beautiful, you're beautiful, it's true", it drives me crazy. I just want him to freeze in the snow! he is cute though
Steel2Velvet
At one point It sounds as if he is singing, "I was f***ing high ...." Am I hearing that correctly?

Foxy
At one point It sounds as if he is singing, "I was f***ing high ...." Am I hearing that correctly? I heard that they were the original lyrics, but got changed to 'flying high'
Steel2Velvet
I know we get slightly differing versions of some songs in Brazil. I have heard more songs than I would have thought, that are different session cuts than what is played in the U.S. I heard this "You're Beautiful" from a local radio station in the car the other day and could have sworn that the F-word was the lyric. I will be ready for that segment of the song and listen more closely next time. My point being, if in fact he uses the profanity, it would seem to change a dynamic or two of the song's demeanor and even be an attempt to explain why he found himself in the situation of not being able to communicate his attraction to the subject of the song. That would make it sort of an anti-dope song.
TheTallOne
No, it is definentaly "f**king high." I bought the original version, and it is marked explicit, and the "f**king" is very obvious.
Batman
It's an OK song, I guess
invisible_r
perhaps this will shed some light, scroll down for the bold "You're Beautiful" My life is brilliant. My life is brilliant. My love is pure. I saw an angel. Of that I'm sure. She smiled at me on the subway. She was with another man. But I won't lose no sleep on that, 'Cause I've got a plan. You're beautiful. You're beautiful. You're beautiful, it's true. I saw your face in a crowded place, And I don't know what to do, 'Cause I'll never be with you. Yeah, she caught my eye, As we walked on by. She could see from my face that I was, Flying high, [ - video/radio edited version] F*cking high, [ - CD version] And I don't think that I'll see her again, But we shared a moment that will last till the end. You're beautiful. You're beautiful. You're beautiful, it's true. I saw your face in a crowded place, And I don't know what to do, 'Cause I'll never be with you. You're beautiful. You're beautiful. You're beautiful, it's true. There must be an angel with a smile on her face, When she thought up that I should be with you. But it's time to face the truth, I will never be with you. Foxy
Although I'm not keen on him, it was a good performance, and he seems pretty genuine when performing - even a little nervous!
