Karhul Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 Yeah, I know, there are many threads like this one. But I think defining your top 5 is easier than your top 10. I struggle with my top10 and just pick the wrong songs, so here's my defenite top 5 songs of all time. What are yours?!. 1. Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin. 2. Hotel California - The Eagles. 3. Layla - Eric Clapton. 4. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen. 5. All Along The Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix.

invisible_r Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 how can you think that the top 5 is easier than the top 10?
_jr_ Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 I don't have anything to add. It was just driving me crazy. 'defenite'.
invisible_r Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 yeah, i just noticed and changed it too
katie_sane Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 I wondered how long it would be before Jr showed up and corrected the spelling
OLD 55 Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 As I've said so many times, the most misspelt word in the English language - although it usually gets mangled to "definAte". Well, you probably know I've got a couple of Top Ten and other Threads on the Site. Here's my Top 5 from them. 1. You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' - Righteous Brothers 2. She Loves You - The Beatles 3. Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon and Garfunkel 4. (We're Gonna) Rock Around The Clock - Bill Haley and his Comets 5. Crying - Roy Orbison and I agree with Karhul on Stairway To Heaven, Bohemian Rhapsody and Hotel California - which I have at Nos.7, 10 and 11 on my Lists. I'm not sure whether you mean the Derek and the Dominoes' version of Layla, or Eric Clapton's acoustic solo (which I like much better, but I'd be in the minority there). AND Katie, If You Leave Me Now, my #18. Rolling Stone Magazine didn't even put it in their Top 500!!!
Foxy Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Top 5 is even harder than Top 10. And shouldn't it be "Your Definitive Top 5"?
OLD 55 Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Well I'm definite about mine, but I'm happy to define my choice of them!

Jugband_Blues Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 hmmm...i'd probably have to say Stairway to Heaven- Led Zeppelin Sympathy for the Devil- Rolling Stones Wish You Were Here- Pink Floyd (getting tough from here) "Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End" The Beatles "Baba O'Riley" The Who a more appropriate thread for people might be a "definitive top couple of songs that you like more than the others" list
Karhul Posted March 30, 2005 Author Report Posted March 30, 2005 Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin Good choice Jugband_Blues!!. I struggled with my 5th, I might have to do a bit more research on it, if you could call it that!!.
