Batman
It's for school. So, anybody have songs with lyrics about loyalty? Classic rock preferably, but anything you can come up with is good. So far all I can think of is "With a little help from my friends" and "Your my best friend" by Beatles and Queen

miamisammy29
"You've Got A Friend" - James Taylor "Stand By Your Man" - The Blues Brothers Actually, "With A Little Help From My Friends" is about drugs. You might wanna omit that one from a school project. Good tune, though.
bluesboy
Beach Boys - Be True to Your School also, Patsy Cline's version of Half as Much written by Curley Williams recorded (2/13/62) If you loved me half as much as I love you You wouldn?t worry me half as much as you do You?re nice to me when there?s no one else around You only build me up to let me down If you miss me half as much as I miss you You wouldn?t stay away half as much as you do I know that I would never be this blue If you only loved me half as much as I love you If you loved me half as much as I love you You wouldn?t worry me half as much as you do I know that I would never be this blue If you only loved me half as much as I loved you
Batman
Actually, "With A Little Help From My Friends" is about drugs. You might wanna omit that one from a school project. Good tune, though. I thought so, but I wasn't sure. I have never really read the lyrics, but I do remember he says "I get high with a little help from my friends." So far I'm sticking with "Your my best friend" by Queen, but I'd still like suggestions
RonJonSurfer
How about staying loyal your family and Dad's wishes... PATCHES Clarence Carter SPOKEN: I was born and raised down in Alabama On a farm way back up in the woods I was so ragged the folks used call me patches Papa used to teas me about it But deep down inside He was hurt because he done all he could do My papa was a great old man I can see him with a shovel in his hand digging Education he never had But he did wonders when the time got bad A little money from the crops he raised Helped pay the bills we made For months he'd been sick and down in the dumps When he tried to get up life would kick him back down One day papa called me to his dyin bed Put his hands on my shoulders And in tears he said Patches, I'm depending on you son To pull the family through My son, it's all left up to you SPOKEN: Two days later papa passed away I became a man that day So I told mama I was gonna quit school But she said that was daddys strictest rule So every morning before I went to school I fed the chickens and I chopped wood too Sometimes I felt that I couldn't go on I wanted to leave and run away from home But I would remember what my daddy said With tears in his eyes on his dyin bed He said, "Patches, I'm depending on you son To pull the family through. My son its all left up to you SPOKEN: Then one day a strong rain came And washed all the crops away And at the age of thirteen I thought I was carrying The weight of the whole world on my shoulders And you know, mama knew what I was going through, Cause Everyday I had to work the fields Cause that's the only way we got our meals You see, I was the oldest of a family And everybody else depended on me Every night I heard my mama pray Lord, give him the strength to face another day Though years have passed and all the kids have grown The Angels took mama to a brand new home But, No people,I never quit My daddy's voice still rings through the fields Sayin, "Patches, I'm depending on you son To pull the family through My son, it's all left up to you Patches, I'm depending on you son
OLD 55
Hi Batman. Do you know this song from 1986? "You're A Friend Of Mine", Jackson Browne and Clarence Clemmons. YOU'RE A FRIEND OF MINE Striking out? Well count me in I'm gonna stand right by your side through thick or thin Ain't no doubt Gonna win A walk through hell ain't bad compared to where we've been Oh you can depend on me Over and over... over and over Know that I intend to be The one who who always makes you laugh until you cry And you can call on me until the day you die Years may come and go Here's one thing I know All my life You're a friend of mine That argument I can't forget We fought so hard I don't think I've recovered yet The girls we knew Who thought you were cool I never introduced my favorite ones to you Oh you can depend on me Over and over... over and over Know that I intend to be The one who who always makes you laugh until you cry And you can call on me until the day you die Years may come and go Here's one thing I know All my life You're a friend of mine Oh you can depend on me Over and over... over and over Know that I intend to be The one who who always makes you laugh until you cry And you can call on me until the day you die Years may come and go Here's one thing I know All my life You're a friend of mine Oh you can depend on me I'll be fine cause you're a friend of mine yeeaah I'll be fine cause you're a friend of mine

Uncle Joe
Great choice there, edna. How about The Pretenders' " I'll Stand By You "? (musical interlude) Oh, why you look so sad? Tears are in your eyes Come on and come to me now Don't be ashamed to cry Let me see you through 'cause I've seen the dark side too When the night falls on you You don't know what to do Nothing you confess Could make me love you less I'll stand by you I'll stand by you Won't let nobody hurt you I'll stand by you So if you're mad, get mad Don't hold it all inside Come on and talk to me now Hey, what you got to hide? I get angry too Well I'm a lot like you When you're standing at the crossroads And don't know which path to choose Let me come along 'cause even if you're wrong I'll stand by you I'stand by you Won't let nobody hurt you I'll stand by you Take me in, into your darkest hour And I'll never desert you I'll stand by you And when... When the night falls on you, baby You're feeling all alone You won't be on your own I'll stand by you I'll stand by you Won't let nobody hurt you I'll stand by you Take me in, into your darkest hour And I'll never desert you I'll stand by you I'll stand by you Won&''t let nobody hurt you I'll stand by you Won't let nobody hurt you I'll stand by you (courtesy Songfacts)
