  1. My Love Will Not Let You Down - Bruce Springsteen Sometimes it might seem like it was planned For you to roam empty hearted through this land Though the world turns you hard and cold There's one thing mister, that I know That's if you think your heart is stone And that you're rough enough to whip this world alone Alone buddy there ain't no peace of mind That's why I'll keep searching till I find my special one
  2. I can't give a top 10, but no list is complete without Springsteen's Born to Run. It's top 5 without a doubt.
  3. I also already gave my top 10, and somehow I left out Cheap Trick - The Flame. One of the greatest tear jerkers of all time.
  4. You can not leave out Bob Dylan or Bruce Springsteen when talking about best lyrics ever. I'll post Dylan a little later. I was going to use Thunder Road, but instead I'll go with Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run In the day we sweat it out in the streets of a runaway American dream At night we ride through mansions of glory in suicide machines Sprung from cages out on highway 9, Chrome wheeled, fuel injected and steppin' out over the line Baby this town rips the bones from your back It's a death trap, it's a suicide rap We gotta get out while we're young 'Cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run Wendy let me in I wanna be your friend I want to guard your dreams and visions Just wrap your legs 'round these velvet rims and strap your hands across my engines Together we could break this trap We'll run till we drop, baby we'll never go back Will you walk with me out on the wire 'Cause baby I'm just a scared and lonely rider But I gotta find out how it feels I want to know if love is wild girl I want to know if love is real Beyond the Palace hemi-powered drones scream down the boulevard The girls comb their hair in rearview mirrors And the boys try to look so hard The amusement park rises bold and stark Kids are huddled on the beach in a mist I wanna die with you Wendy on the streets tonight In an everlasting kiss The highway's jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive Everybody's out on the run tonight but there's no place left to hide Together Wendy we'll live with the sadness I'll love you with all the madness in my soul Someday girl I don't know when we're gonna get to that place Where we really want to go and we'll walk in the sun But till then tramps like us baby we were born to run --- Brilliant Disguise has great lyrics too. Such a 'brilliant' song ::

  13. Can someone help me find songs that sound like Blue Oyster Cult's "Dancin' in the Ruins"? What about Peter Gabriel's Red Rain?
  14. Cool, thank you. It's kinda hard for me to tell you what I'm looking for because I can't really explain what I like. Maybe soon I'll post some specific info about my tastes and see if anyone has any ideas. The only way I currently find songs I like is by going through ITunes and listening to the clips of all my favorite bands.
  15. Does anyone know of a site that helps you find music you would probably enjoy? I've always wanted a website that would either quiz you or find songs similar to the ones you list. For example, if I typed in say Rush - Subdivisions, it would show me similar songs. So has this been designed yet or do I have a million dollar idea?
  16. I don't think any of these were posted: .38 Special - Caught Up In You Bryan Adams - Heaven (not really rock, but eh) Eddie Money - Two Tickets to Paradise John Mellencamp - Hurts So Good Scorpions - No One Like You Survivor - High On You Survivor - The Search is Over Tom Petty - Love is a Long Road U2 - With or Without You Genesis - Invisible Touch Scorpions - Rhythm of Love Blue Oyster Cult - Dancin in the Ruins

  18. Most annoying things in music: 1. When the vocals begin in any Led Zepplin song. 2. Any uplifting-sounding song. 3. When a song is dead on its feet going nowhere (IE: Kansas - Dust in the Wind, Scorpions - Winds of Change) 4. When a song goes from a great rhythm to something totally different (Queen - Heaven for Everyone, U2 - Beautiful Day)
  19. Top 5: Tom Petty - Learning to Fly Peter Gabriel - In Your Eyes Peter Gabriel - Red Rain Metallica - Unforgiven Aerosmith - Dream On
  20. "So" by Peter Gabriel is the greatest album of all time.
