bazooka
The Shirelles Bruce Springsteen Bob Dylan All are members of The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame ? That's the best I've found so far. I kept coming up with two linked out three like these dead ends: Springsteen + Shirelles = Return Of The Secaucus Seven soundtrack Dylan + Shirelles = keyboardist Paul Griffin Dylan + Springsteen = We Are The World TV event, tribute albums to Johnny Cash, Warren Zevon
daslied
No, though you may be correct. Since it's been a few days, and I haven't been on since Friday, should I just give the answer and let someone else start the game anew?
bazooka
should I just give the answer and let someone else start the game anew? Please toss out a big hint first. I was looking at song titles for a link, but didn't hit paydirt there either.
daslied
OK, a fourth musical entity is involved, and it has to do with covers.
bazooka
Does that entity go by the name Elvis Costello? He's covered at least one song each originally from The Shirelles, Dylan and Springsteen.
daslied
No, but can I change it? He's 1000 times better than who I came up with...
bazooka
No, but can I change it? He's 1000 times better than who I came up with... Wish I could vent my biases by naming all the entities that I think Elvis Costello is 1000 times better than. But I won't start a war. Hang in there, daslied. Maintaining patience is difficult in this game. Give us a few more stabs at it.
daslied
Elvis is so great; he'll probably not be appreciated like he should as a songwriter until after he's gone, and that's a shame. I know he gets credit now, but come on. The man is so brilliant, and such a chameleon. Another hint: 2 Live Crew also had a song with a similar title to this group's biggest hit. daslied
OK, one of the covers has a huge example of misheard lyrics.
_Laurie_
Blinded by the light? manfred mann had a big hit with that, and most of springsteens lyrics i cant understand what he's singing anyways. daslied
Correct! Manfred Mann/Earth Band Blinded By The Light (Springsteen) The Mighty Quinn (Dylan) Sha-La-La (Shirelles) Your go, Laurie.
bazooka
2 Live Crew's song is Do Wah Diddy. Manfred Mann's is Do Wah Diddy Diddy. That hint gave it to me. I even had all the covers figured out, but Laurie aced me out -- again In my opinion, Elvis Costello is only 795 times better than Manfred Mann. Tenacious_Peaches
I'll be dipped...Bazooka is just the sort of evil genius that would test us like that. I thought it was out of character for him to misspell Mellencamp, but I didn't pick up on the other two. Good catch.
