Uncle Joe
Heard this one on the news this morning. The kids (now adults) who sang on Floyd's "Another Brick In The Wall" are suing Pink Floyd. They were paid the equivalent of $100.00 each for their part on the recording. They now want royalties that would total about $300.00 each. A mere $300.00...LOL. Guess what? Floyd is refusing to settle on principle. Apparently the little bastards didn't eat their meat and now they want their pudding. Any views?

Danielj
I cant see this being true or some reason, because somewhere I heard that the song only used four kids and just overdubbed lots of times.
cosmosis
hired musicians don't get royalties. And they are asking for 300 lol. And what I heard is that the band settled for one copy of the album to each kid. Did you know that after The Wall Rick was technicly a hired musician? ::

I heard the same thing, Dan. Rick Wright. A hired musician. Come on, this is the guy who wrote Great Gig In The Sky!
cosmosis
It's a fact man. They felt like he was not contributing enough in the writing. You know, the bigger the band, the bigger the egos.
Aunt_Acid
I blame Roger Waters as far as the drama goes. I know Dave Gilmour had an ego too, but Roger Waters just needed to not be such an [bleep]. I'm sure he isn't really that much of an [bleep], it's just that writing the best music in the world goes to your head after a while.
cosmosis
it's just that writing the best music in the world goes to your head after a while. funny stuff. I do think Waters was a control freak. But I think the main thing is that Rogers wanted to do more experimental music while Dave was on the more traditional/soulful side and kinda went along. I'm just glad they lasted enough to record The Wall (phew!).

The Seeker
They're suing them, what, about 30 years after the recording? I would at least try and get more than just 300 $.
RonJonSurfer
I heard (maybe six months ago) that the women singing on Dark Side of the Moon was also suing them. Not happy with what she got paid vs. the end result $$$$. Of course, she agreed to that amount 30 years ago and she should be happy to part of rock history. Aunt_Acid
Yeah. People need to take in consideration when they agree to do something like that how big the album could be. If you are kicking yourself 30 years later because you agreed to a small amount, oh well.
