Blue_In_Green Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 Wow, one of my songs finally made it! And after being away for over a year!
Lucky Posted May 14, 2012 Author Report Posted May 14, 2012 What a welcome back then ... and by the way welcome back!
Rayzor Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 WooHoo!! :happybanana: Not only did BOTH of my noms make it, but one of them is #1!! First time either has happened!
edna Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 (edited) I don't think I ever had a #1... I don't really care, really But I like it when other people listen to the songs I post. Because I DO listen to every song that is nominated... I (almost) always have some ten or fifty minutes a day (or a week) to listen to the songs I never heard... .) Wait, yes, I nominated "All the Way" (Sinatra) some months ago and it was #1... Funny... But that's cause it's a very well-known song. It's a pity some songfactors don't take the time to listen to the songs. They'd discover gems... Edited May 15, 2012 by Guest
Brad_M Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 It's a pity some songfactors don't take the time to listen to the songs. They'd discover gems... They don't!? Who are these Songfactors? We want names, so they can be dealt with accordingly. On a serious note, has anyone stated that they don't? I not only listen to every song, but after choosing the ten I like best, I have to listen to short clips of those ten a couple of times just to decide which order to put them in. Sometimes I just make deadline.
edna Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 I don't know who they are but I remember we talked about this before and many songfactors said they didn't. You want names? You can ask here...
Lucky Posted May 16, 2012 Author Report Posted May 16, 2012 In the past there have been those that have said they don't have time to listen to all - and I guess there are some that don't listen because they think the song is too new/old/by someone they've never heard of .... but whether any of the current players listen or not, I do not know. Like edna said, it's shame, as there are some real gems sometimes. I will admit to infrequently not having the time to listen to every song, but I generally say so with my votes.
phil Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 I listen to all the songs, usually late at night. I have found some great tunes.
edna Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 Sometimes I just don't see a song and when it comes to vote I find it on the list, so I youtube them to make sure I like it or not...
_Laurie_ Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 Of course I listen to all the songs....I think that's the whole idea of the top tens....to be able to fairly vote and to listen to some new stuff, and find some hidden gems that you might enjoy...I admit there's only been a couple times I did not get a chance to listen to a couple songs....
Uncle Joe Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 I only listen to songs I've not heard before. Sometimes just a sample...but I listen.
edna Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 I only listen to songs I've not heard before. Sometimes just a sample...but I listen. Yes, I do the same. When I know the song I might like it or not... when I don't, a sample might give me a clue. Then I might like it and go on listening. Now, if I see clearly i's not the sort of song I'd like... I won't listen anymore.
