TheLizard
where is Sweet Home Alabama? Oh! the humanity!!! what was I thinking? Maybe that that song is overrated and a tad racist? And this is coming from someone who generally loves Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I'm more surprised that Freebird didn't make the list. I had forgotten about it, but I still wouldn't of nominated it, I couldn't even get to Stairway to Heaven. bluesboy
That's true. But for this I voted differently. Basically each of my votes this time was for individual songs that best represented the 70's, not so much my favorite songs. I basically have a song from each of my favorite "supergroups" an R&B, a southern rock, a disco, and so forth. Something to represent all the important styles & genres and artists of the 70's. I mostly agree Lucky. This is different from the weekly top tens. I view the decades' vote like a curator of a museum would want to pass on generational knowledge about music (i.e.) mostly objectively with minimal subjective responses. How do you feel these noms reflect the overall feel & jive of the '70s
Levis
I realise that with a 1970s list, you can do no wrong... [big]The Songfactors' Choice Top Ten for the 1970s[/big] 1. Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who 2. Kashmir - Led Zeppelin 3. Layla - Derek and the Dominoes 4. American Pie - Don McLean 5. Aqualung - Jethro Tull 6. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen 7. Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd 8. Hotel California - Eagles 9. Echoes - Pink Floyd 10. Let It Be - The Beatles But I'd like you to TRY to find something wrong here... it'd be interesting to observe
Lucky
Well I really think Hotel California ..... and Aqualung? Nah I'm kidding .... Amazing freaking Ten!! Of course it would be so no matter which 10 songs made the final list, but I'm mighty pleased with these10 (my songs are #'s 3 & 4, yay! ). Shawna
there's only 2 American acts/bands on the list. We were evidently under heavy European infuence during the '70s.

c_s_1987
I'm sure anyone who noticed that I voted for eight of the top ten songs would know I was being sarcastic in my previous post. This is the first Top Ten ever where every song on the list is on my iPod.
