pinkstones
Axl Rose. Yeesh. Half the time it's screeching, the other half it's screaming.
JumboXL
Worst voice in music history is Michael McDonald's. Barry White is next.

OLD 55
Bob Dylan. The man cannot sing. Amen Ken (and mpdsmom). He's a great songwriter, but..... Although it's hard to imagine someone else doing 'Like a Rolling Stone'. Mindcrime, how could you possibly include Tom Jones in your Top 3 worst singers? The man has/had a very powerful voice and sings in tune. Good singers can do that.
Steel2Velvet
Listening to a few seconds of Tom Waits invariably triggers my involuntary throat clearing response mechanism.

_Laurie_
I was just going to post about Dave Matthews....his style of singing does annoy me...it sounds like he's just ramblin' on about nothing, and I can't understand what the heck he's singing about half the time.... MuzikTyme
When we talk about "bad" or "worst" voices, let's not forget the passion behind them. I've always thought Neil Young and Bob Dylan had/has a terrible voices. But their passion and music made it beautiful!
RonJonSurfer
You hit it on the head with Mr. Young. His true voice is not good, but his passion makes it perfect. He plays too many one note solos, but with intensity and feeling. I love his music.
_Laurie_
I love his music too Ron...Here's one you don't hear often, one of my favorite "heart felt tunes" from Mr. Neil Young Harvest Moon
DemonD
Saying who is the "worst" or "best" vocalist is a very subjective thing. I've always LOVED the rasp of Tom Waits. I CANNOT STAND the vocals of Elton John!

RyanTurtle
Leonard Cohen (This man has absolutely NO vocal ability. He talks or growls his way through his grossly overrated songs.) I agree with a lot of the names on here, but not this one. Well, not completely. Songs From A Room was amazing as was Songs of Love and Hate. Two of my favorite albums of all time! lonelyday
Well I'm absolutely positive that it isn't! The worst voice is a bit of a weird concept anyway, some not-so-pretty voices have made great music. I'm thinking Kurt Cobain and Billy Corgan. I wouldn't really want them to sing me to sleep, but I can still dig their tunes.

MuzikTyme
I always thought "Alfalfa" from Li'l Rascals (Our Gang) had a voice that could bite through aluminum foil and give nails grinding against a chalkboard a whole new meaning.
