MindCrime Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 Which line from a song do you think is the most well-known? I'm thinking "You can check out any time you like, but you can't ever leave" from Hotel California is one of them.

LeeBB Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 Which line from a song do you think is the most well-known? I'm thinking "You can check out any time you like, but you can't ever leave" from Hotel California is one of them. I'm thinking that the best known lines will also be titles of songs, eg "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" or "You've lost That Loving Feeling". When it comes to lyrics that are not titles, that's a different kettle of fish... LBB
Dappled Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 One pill makes you larger.... I read the news today, oh boy... On a cold and grey Chicago morning... Once upon a time you dressed so fine... I am just a poor boy... Left a good job in the city...
LeeBB Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 "We don't need no education." But to be the most recognised line ever, my mum and my wife would both have to know it, and that disqualifies 99% of the suggestions so far (including this one). btw, I know I'm an ingenue, but what is this one from: "On a cold and grey Chicago morning" ?? LBB
Farin Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 but what is this one from: "On a cold and grey Chicago morning" ?? ... a poor little baby child is born, in the ghetto
Crazy Don Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 Oh yeah, I'll tell you something I think you'll understand… The line that launched the British Invasion!
edna Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 Once upon a time you dressed so fine... ...and this one too...
cyberjudge Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 you need no sympathy? NO! NO! NO! It's this one: I am just a poor boy Though my story's seldom told I have squandered my resistance For a pocketful of mumbles Such are promises
Farin Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 yes, I know that he meant that song I just wanted to comment that there is (at least) one other very famous song with that line
Lucky Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 Well, since my baby left me ... For me that ^^ may be the most recognizable
miamisammy29 Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 "Please allow me to introduce myself..." and.. "I'M A MONKEEEEEEYYYYY!!"
