Lucky
Wasn't everybody in Toto in some other band at some point as well? Like they were all session players who got together? As were Procol Harum, but I don't think any were specifically well known with any other bands. Members of Toto played with Boz Scaggs & Steely Dan. Members of Procol Harum with the Paramounts, who weren't particularly famous anyway. Robin Trower has obviously been sucsessful. Robin Trower (Procol Harum, Robin Trower Band, Brian Ferry Band)

blind-fitter
Nick Cave (...& the Bad Seeds, Grinderman) Isn't Grinderman essentally The Bad Seeds: the same personnal under a different name? In any case, Nick Cave came to prominence fronting The Birthday Party. The Bad Seeds came later... Link to info about The Birthday Party
blind-fitter
However, while we're on the subject: Barry Adamson Aside from being a former Bad Seed, and an acclaimed solo artist with a distinguished back catalogue of smoky jazz film-noiresque albums, Adamson was also a member of legendary and influential post-punk outfit Magazine,(full original line-up reformed for forthcoming live shows), and a contributor to new romantic synth-poppers Visage. Amongst other things. Now that's versatility!
Levis
The Bad Seeds and Magazine have someone in common? I did not know that Anyway - Andy Bell formed Ride... after which he was in the lesser known (and less successful) Hurricane #1. Now he plays bass and writes songs for Oasis.
