blind-fitter
From the same album in my library: Crash - The Primitives (1988) you KNOW this song! you SO know it! here you go way too fast don't slow down you're gonna crash you should watch - watch your stay here don't look out you're gonna break your neck Good nom. Best of luck with it; I nominated it once before (a long time ago) and I seem to recall it going down like a Cumberland sausage at a barmitzvah.(And I recall your good self being sniffily dismissive... ) Incidentally, line#3 is "Watch, watch your step..." blind-fitter
When I nominated "Crash" (SF Top Ten #39, in late '06), it received a Grand Total of 9 pts, since I was the only person that voted for it. In private, when I expressed dismay at this poor turnout for such a slice of classy new-wave indie-pop genius, your response was something along the lines of "Eh? What? Oh...the blonde one?" Your Ten that week included such delights as The Cranberries ( ) , Enya ( ) , Travis..., but no sign of The Primitives. Before becoming a proper pop band (with chart hits and all), The Primitives had been a fuzzy and amateurish "post-Mary Chain" hybrid of The Ramones and The Shangri-las. They shot into the indie-public's consciousness when Morrissey was photographed for the NME wearing a Primitives T-shirt. The rest, as they say, is history. Levis
1. Stop holding TT#39 against me, you 2. That Enya song has nostalgic value for me even though her voice makes me think of dewy fields and prancing unicorns (partial imagery credit to a couple of articles I read in Mad magazine) 3. Under certain circumstances I'd probably vote for the Cranberries again, even if I'm not much of a fan of them 4. Yeah, that sounds like what my response must've been. I thought roughly the same thing when I saw the video again - "wow... so blonde"
The Seeker
Richard Cory -- Simon & Garfunkel (1966) Yes, it's Simon&Garfunkel, but I don't think it's a particularly well-known song. Which is not to say you shouldn't vote for it all the same
