Unseen
Hello, Yeah! it's me again, well I was afraid to ask again as I thought I'm the one who started the "I need" fest then I realized there are old needy threads so no I'm comfrotable and courages HA! bless me. Anyways the topic I'm looking for is anti-labeling phsycially or pyschology, please anti-labeling not anti-judging, like fat,******,sp*k,raghead, emo, weird, nerd, geek etc ect, first song came to my mind is black or white by MJ lol! but I'm really not comfortable with it, anything works as long not rap, hiphop or country. Much appreciated, cheers, Unseen. Edited July 15, 2008 by Guest Removed N word
Farin
I was afraid to ask again as I thought I'm the one who started the "I need" fest then I realized there are old needy threads so no I'm comfrotable and courages HA! bless me. no need to be worried, we love to answer questions and there's no such thing as a "maximum" now to your question: maybe What I am by Edie Brickell & the new Bohemians? What I am is what I am are you what you are, or what? well, you said you don't want any hip-hop songs, but I'll mention this nonetheless because it fits so well (imo) Me, Myself and I by De La Soul is about how the band strongly objects to be labeld as typical 'getto rapper' from one side and as 'hippies' from the other side Right is wrong when hype is written On the Soul, De La that is, Style is surely our own thing Not the false disguise of showbiz De La Soul is from the soul And this fact I can't deny Strictly from the Dan called Stuckie And from me myself and I
Unseen
@ryansgirl Thank you very much, it's cool but the problem is I don't want the black&white "only" concept. @Farin Thank you very much Farin, you're awesome mate, first song is cool and it's generalize the idea of labeling into "hatred" that's nice but not enough storng lyrics to point it out, the second song is nice but also the problem is like they talking about their band and what they have been through, I appreciate your help a lot. Notice: thanks all, but if you can find a song that anti-labeling emotionally like nerd, geek, emo and physcially like black, spik, raghead, both point of views that would be awesome as I don't want it to be about black and whites only, may be hard to find both concepts on the same song. Cheers, Unseen.

Otokichi
"Don't Laugh at Me" by Steven Seskin I'm a little boy with glasses, the one they call a "geek" A little girl who never smiles cuz I got braces on my teeth And I know how it feels to cry myself to sleep I'm that kid on every playground who’s always chosen last A single teenage mother tryin' to overcome my past You don't have to be my friend but is it too much to ask Don't laugh at me; don't call me names Don't get your pleasure from my pain In God's eyes we're all the same Some day we'll all have perfect wings Don't laugh at me I'm the beggar on the corner You’ve passed me on the street I wouldn't be out here begging if I had enough to eat And don't think I don't notice that our eyes never meet Don't laugh at me; don't call me names Don't get your pleasure from my pain In God's eyes we're all the same Some day we'll all have perfect wings Don't laugh at me I'm Fat. I'm Thin. I’m Short. I'm Tall. I'm Deaf. I'm Blind. Hey aren't we all? Don't laugh at me; don’t call me names Don't get your pleasure from my pain In God's eyes we're all the same Some day we'll all have perfect wings Don't laugh at me Don’t laugh at me Recorded by Peter, Paul & Mary some years ago, but I found it on "Cordell Country" by Cordell Keith Haugen. Udo
Hmm... maybe Alien Shore by Rush Alien Shore lyrics You and I, we are strangers by one chromosome Slave to the hormone, body and soul In a struggle to be happy and free Swimming in a primitive sea You and I, we must dive below the surface A world of red neon and ultramarine Shining bridges on the ocean floor Reaching to the alien shore For you and me, sex is not a competition For you and me, sex is not a job description For you and me We agree You and I, we are pressed into these solitudes Color and culture, language and race Just variations on a theme Islands in a much larger stream For you and me, race is not a competition For you and me, race is not a definition For you and me We agree But that's just us... Reaching for the alien shore You and I, we reject these narrow attitudes We add to each other, like a coral reef Building bridges on the ocean floor Reaching for the alien shore For you and me, race is not a competition For you and me, sex is not a definition For you and me, we hold these truths to be self-evident For you and me, we'd elect each other president For you and me We might agree But that's just us... Earth-Angel
Colourblind - Counting Crows I am colorblind Coffee black and egg white Pull me out from inside I am ready (repeat 3 times) I am taffy stuck and tongue tied Stutter shook and uptight Pull me out from inside I am ready (repeat 3 times) I am fine I am covered in skin No one gets to come in Pull me out from inside I am folded and unfolded and unfolding I am colorblind Coffee black and egg white Pull me out from inside I am ready (repeat 3 times) I am fine (repeat 3 times) Unpretty - TLC I wish I could tie you up in my shoes Make you feel unpretty too I was told I was beautiful But what does that mean to you Look inside the mirror who's inside there The one with the long hair Same old me again today (yeah) My outsides look cool My insides are blue Everytime I think I'm through It's because of you I've tried different ways But it's all the same At the end of the day I have myself to blame I'm just trippin' (Chorus) You can buy your hair if it won't grow You can fix your nose if he says so You can buy all the make up That man can make But if you can't look inside you Find out who I am too Be in the position to make me feel So damn unpretty I'll make you feel unpretty too Never insecure until I met you Now I'm bein' stupid I used to be so cute to me Just a little bit skinny Why do I look to all these things To keep you happy Maybe to get rid of you And then I'll get back to me (hey) My outsides look cool My insides are blue Everytime I think I'm through It's because of you I've tried different ways But it's all the same At the end of the day I have myself to blame I'm just trippin' Beautiful - Christina Aguilera Don't look at me. Every day is so wonderful Then suddenly, It's hard to breathe Now and then, I get insecure From all the pain I'm so ashamed I am beautiful no matter what they say Words can't bring me down I am beautiful in every single way Yes, words can't bring me down, oh no So, don't you bring me down today To all your friends, you're delirious, You're so consumed In all your doom, Trying hard to fill the emptiness, The pieces gone, Left the puzzle undone Is that the way it is? 'Cause you are beautiful no matter what they say Words can't bring you down, oh no 'Cause you are beautiful in every single way Yes, words can't bring you down, oh no So, don't you bring me down today No matter what we do, (No matter what we do) No matter what we say, (No matter what we say) We're the song inside the tune (Yeah, oh yeah) Full of beautiful mistakes And everywhere we go, (And everywhere we go) The sun will always shine (The sun will always shine) And tomorrow we might awake On the other side 'Cause we are beautiful no matter what they say Yes, words won't bring us down, no no We are beautiful in every single way Yes, words can't bring us down, oh no So, don't you bring me down today Don't you bring me down today Don't you bring me down today Also, please bear in mind that while some words are fine for others, they are still considered offensive and please are to be edited with an asterisk or an alternative

edna
And this one, I know it isn´t about "labels" but rather fortune... but I always thought it had something to do with it. We sometimes label people upon their luck after all... "There but for Fortune" - Phil Ochs Show me the prison, show me the jail Show me the prisoner, whose life has gone stale And I'll show you a young man With so many reasons why And there but for fortune, go you or I......mm.mm Show me the alley, show me the train Show me the hobo, who sleeps out in the rain And I'll show you a young man With so many reasons why And there but for fortune ,go you or I, mm.mm Show me the whiskey, stains on the floor Show me the drunkard, as he stumbles out the door And I'll show you a young man with so many reasons why And there but for fortune go you or I, mmm,mm Show me the country, where the bombs had to fall Show me the ruins of the buildings, once so tall And I'll show you a young land with so many reasons why And there but for fortune go you and I, you and I
Unseen
@TheLizard and Levis *blushes* thanks a lot for both of you, you know I see no point for being e-pen!s "I did ! so Earth Angel won't edit" yeah no point for being a jerk or ungrateful specially over the internet, besides you guys helping, wether you like what you do or not, it's your job or not, still it's a great effort 'cause without help I may spend a year looking for what I want and those guys find it for me within one hour ! imagine ! (TYVMFTH) new one means Thank You Very Much For The Help HA ! @edna Thank you very much for your help, I liked the second song a lot, what you said and how you looked at the lyrics brought to my mind that there are deep and superficial lestiners/receptionist everyone and his ability to understand, so I see most of the time we need to be superficial or more direct to the point so others can get it, at the end your fingers not the same .. heh! not sure what I'm babling about it in here Enjoyed both songs thanks again sir!
