MindCrime
How did Electric Blue by Icehouse get in today's top 10? I'm surprised to see it ranked on a list dominated by the Beatles.

Carl
I give Bono credit for singing with people who are better than he is. BB King blows him away on When Love Comes To Town, and Mary J Blige steals his thunder on their version of One. Surround yourself with people better than you... Carl
And in other news, we lined up an interview with Doobie Brother Tom Johnston.

skybluesky
That's from the episode of What's Happening that the Doobs guest starred on. Re-Run got busted tape recording the concert.
Carl
I really do love that episode, which probably gave many kids who would never have thought about it the idea to bootleg concerts. Rerun was just too hapless to get away with it. As much as I would have loved to talk about it, Tom wasn't with the group when they did the show. skybluesky
Damn all Re Run's popping and locking! That episode was the grandfather of Napster.
_Laurie_
In Paul Simon's song "Me And Julio Down By The School Yard" I looked up the lyrics to the song and it says "See you , me and Julio down by the school yard"....When I heard the song today I never noticed the word "you" in that line.....Is he just singing it fast that I don't hear it?... Farin
probably... the "you, me and Julio" are the official lyrics (I just checked on his website)
Tenacious_Peaches
I really want to buy KISS's new CD, but I'm still pissed at them for taking my money 10 years ago to see their "farewell" tour.
Carl
You'll have to take a trip to Wal-Mart to get it Peaches. I'm pretty sure they have an exclusive. It turns out Gene Simmons is Metallica-like when it comes to downloading. Here's a recent quote: "I'm not a fan of downloading for free. I don't believe in anything for free. The kids next door that we think are sweet and have freckled faces were never punished for stealing everything. You can literally point to a million people out of work - the truckers that truck the records to the stores, the stores themselves that used to hire people, the gasoline they used, the warehouses - an entire industry is wiped out because some college kid didn't want to pay for songs. And who's to blame? The record industry, for never having a repercussion."
skybluesky
Well, are you surprised to hear that from the man who sells KISS coffins, condoms, pinball machines, dolls, make up... He'd sell KISS toilet paper too. Now there's an idea
Tenacious_Peaches
I'm listening to Relax by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. I remember singing this at the tender age of 13 or 14, oblivious to how filthy it was. Relax, don't do it, when you wanna...well, you know. Yikes. skybluesky
I know man. I remember listening to "Physical" for the first time in ages and being shocked me and my little first grade friends used to sing "there's nothing left to talk about 'les it's horizontally" with complete innocence.
