blind-fitter
"Dickie Davies Eyes" - Half Man Half Biscuit Mention the Lord of the Rings just once more, And I'll more than likely kill you. "Moorcock, Moorcock, Michael Moorcock" you fervently moan. Is this a wok that you shove down my throat, Or are you just pleased to see me? Brian Moore's head looks uncannily like London Planetarium. Chorus: And all those people Who you, romantically, Like to still believe are alive, Are dead! So I'll wipe my snot On the arm of your chair As you put another Roger Dean poster On the wall. God, I could murder a Cadbury's Flake, Then I guess you wouldn't let me into heaven. Or maybe you would 'cause their adverts promote oral sex! A Romany bint in a field with her paints, Suggesting we faint at her beauty, But she's got Dickie Davies Eyes... Chorus x

TheLizard
"Happy"- The Rolling Stones Well I never kept a dollar past sunset, It always burned a hole in my pants. Never made a school mama happy, Never blew a second chance. I need a love to keep me happy, I need a love to keep me happy. Baby, baby keep me happy. Baby, baby keep me happy. Always took candy from strangers, Didn't wanna get me no trade. Never want to be like papa, Working for the boss ev'ry night and day. I need a love to keep me happy, I need a love, baby won't ya keep me happy. Baby, won't ya keep me happy. Baby, please keep me I need a love to keep me happy, I need a love to keep me happy. Baby, baby keep me happy. Baby, baby keep me happy. Never got a flash out of cocktails, When I got some flesh off the bone. Never got a lift out of Lear jets, When I can fly way back home. Although you're trying not to listen I bet your eyes are staring at the ground She makes a subtle proposition Sorry love I'll have to turn you down And oh he must be up to something Want half a chance to show he's more than likely I've got a feeling in my stomach I start to wonder what his story might be What his story might be They said it changes when the sun goes down And they said it changes when the sun goes down And they said it changes when the sun goes down Around here Around... here... And look here comes a Ford Mondeo Isn't he Mister Inconspicuous And he don't have to say 'owt She understands she's here to get picked up Bet she's delighted when she sees him Pulling in and giving her the eye Because she must be ******* freezing Scantily clad beneath the clear night sky She don't stop in the winter, no and... They said it changes when the sun goes down And they said it changes when the sun goes down And they said it changes when the sun goes down Around here They said it changes when the sun goes down Over the river, going out to town And they said it changes when the sun goes down Around here Around... here... Tenacious_Peaches
He Stopped Loving Her Today George Jones He said "I'll love you till I die", she told him "You'll forget in time" As the years went slowly by, she still preyed upon his mind He kept her picture on his wall, went half-crazy now and then He still loved her through it all, hoping she'd come back again Kept some letters by his bed dated nineteen sixty-two He had underlined in red every single "I love you" I went to see him just today, oh but I didn't see no tears All dressed up to go away, first time I'd seen him smile in years He stopped loving her today They placed a wreath upon his door And soon they'll carry him away He stopped loving her today (Spoken) You know, she came to see him one last time. Aww, 'n' we all wondered if she would. And it kept runnin' through my mind "this time he's over her for good." mollyjane
Shine on You Crazy Diamond ~ Pink Floyd Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun. Shine on you crazy diamond. Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky. Shine on you crazy diamond. You were caught on the cross fire of childhood and stardom, Blown on the steel breeze. Come on you target for faraway laughter, come on you stranger, You legend, you martyr, and shine! You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon. Shine on you crazy diamond. Treatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light. Shine on you crazy diamond. Well you wore out your welcome with random precision, Rode on the steel breeze. Come on you raver, you seer of visions, come on you painter, You piper, you prisoner, and shine! Nobody knows where you are, how near or how far. Shine on you crazy diamond. Pile on many more layers and i'll be joining you there. Shine on you crazy diamond. And we'll bask in the shadow of yesterday's triumph, And sail on the steel breeze. Come on you boy child, you winner and loser, Come on you miner for truth and delusion, and shine!

Mike
Five Man Electric Band - Signs Signs Everywhere a Sign And the sign said "Long-haired freaky people need not apply" So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why He said "You look like a fine upstanding young man, I think you'll do" So I took off my hat, I said "Imagine that. Huh! Me workin' for you!" Whoa-oh-oh Sign, sign, everywhere a sign Blockin' out the scenery, breakin' my mind Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign? And the sign said anybody caught trespassin' would be shot on sight So I jumped on the fence and-a yelled at the house, "Hey! What gives you the right?" "To put up a fence to keep me out or to keep mother nature in" "If God was here he'd tell you to your face, Man, you're some kinda sinner" Sign, sign, everywhere a sign Blockin' out the scenery, breakin' my mind Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign? Mattyl110792
Bob Dylan - Hurricane Pistol shots ring out in the barroom night Enter patty valentine from the upper hall. She sees the bartender in a pool of blood, Cries out, my god, they killed them all! Here comes the story of the hurricane, The man the authorities came to blame For somethin that he never done. Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been The champion of the world. Three bodies lyin there does patty see And another man named bello, movin around mysteriously. I didnt do it, he says, and he throws up his hands I was only robbin the register, I hope you understand. I saw them leavin, he says, and he stops One of us had better call up the cops. And so patty calls the cops And they arrive on the scene with their red lights flashin In the hot new jersey night. Meanwhile, far away in another part of town Rubin carter and a couple of friends are drivin around. Number one contender for the middleweight crown Had no idea what kinda s*** was about to go down When a cop pulled him over to the side of the road Just like the time before and the time before that. In paterson thats just the way things go. If youre black you might as well not show up on the street less you wanna draw the heat. Alfred bello had a partner and he had a rap for the cops. Him and arthur dexter bradley were just out prowlin around He said, I saw two men runnin out, they looked like middleweights They jumped into a white car with out-of-state plates. And miss patty valentine just nodded her head. Cop said, wait a minute, boys, this ones not dead So they took him to the infirmary And though this man could hardly see They told him that he could identify the guilty men. Four in the mornin and they haul rubin in, Take him to the hospital and they bring him upstairs. The wounded man looks up through his one dyin eye Says, whad you bring him in here for? he aint the guy! Yes, heres the story of the hurricane, The man the authorities came to blame For somethin that he never done. Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been The champion of the world. Four months later, the ghettos are in flame, Rubins in south america, fightin for his name While arthur dexter bradleys still in the robbery game And the cops are puttin the screws to him, lookin for somebody to blame. Remember that murder that happened in a bar? Remember you said you saw the getaway car? You think youd like to play ball with the law? Think it might-a been that fighter that you saw runnin that night? Dont forget that you are white. Arthur dexter bradley said, Im really not sure. Cops said, a poor boy like you could use a break We got you for the motel job and were talkin to your friend bello Now you dont wanta have to go back to jail, be a nice fellow. Youll be doin society a favor. That sonofabitch is brave and gettin braver. We want to put his a** in stir We want to pin this triple murder on him He aint no gentleman jim. Rubin could take a man out with just one punch But he never did like to talk about it all that much. Its my work, hed say, and I do it for pay And when its over Id just as soon go on my way Up to some paradise Where the trout streams flow and the air is nice And ride a horse along a trail. But then they took him to the jailhouse Where they try to turn a man into a mouse. All of rubins cards were marked in advance The trial was a pig-circus, he never had a chance. The judge made rubins witnesses drunkards from the slums To the white folks who watched he was a revolutionary bum And to the black folks he was just a crazy *******. No one doubted that he pulled the trigger. And though they could not produce the gun, The d.a. said he was the one who did the deed And the all-white jury agreed. Rubin carter was falsely tried. The crime was murder one, guess who testified? Bello and bradley and they both baldly lied And the newspapers, they all went along for the ride. How can the life of such a man Be in the palm of some fools hand? To see him obviously framed Couldnt help but make me feel ashamed to live in a land Where justice is a game. Now all the criminals in their coats and their ties Are free to drink martinis and watch the sun rise While rubin sits like buddha in a ten-foot cell An innocent man in a living hell. Thats the story of the hurricane, But it wont be over till they clear his name And give him back the time hes done. Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been The champion of the world. Hooked on it at the moment.. Matt
