edna
(Who said: No man is an island; he’s a peninsula? Edna?) "A Small Package of Value Will Come to You Shortly," from Jefferson Airplane´s album "After Bathing at Baxter´s ". I googled to see who wrote it and it looks like it was Spencer Dryden, drums. I thought it would be some Grace Slick line...

blind-fitter
It has been brought to my attention that I failed to reach No.10. in my votes. What happened there was, (I think, it's all a bit hazy now), I had just voted for "Spaceman" by Babylon Zoo, felt a bit heady, fell to the floor, pulled myself up, went in search of a gun. Luckily I didn't find one, so I'm still here to tell the tale. No. 10) "Howzat" - Sherbet : on the spurious grounds that it is probably the only chart hit to thrive on an analogy between relationship-troubles and a cricket match. "Howzat?! You messed about, I caught you out, Howzat?!"* * Note to the non-cricketing world: "Howzaaaaaat?!" is the traditional appeal of the bowling team to the umpire, when they feel the opposing batsman should be given "out", (for example, if the batsman's stroke has resulted in a "catch"). I know that our 2 Newbies haven't - I PT'd them and have gotten no response, so 2 'regulars' to vote before Farin declares the Top Ten, whoever they may be. Thanks to all of you who consistently support the Top Ten.

blind-fitter
Woohoo! Some punk rock at No. 1!!! Could one of you statisticy types confirm whether I once nominated London Calling before, and it failed to make the grade? Or am I hallucinating again? (Come to think of it, maybe it was "Rock The Casbah" I nominated...) To be honest, I thought this was the worst set of nominations in a long time, but maybe that has enabled something a bit different to sneak to the front? edna
I was also very surprised that "I am a rock" had not made the Top Ten...
