Uncle Joe
Joe, that was "Elenore" by The Turtles, wasn't it? Of course you're right,Das. Thanks. They rhymed better and etcetera.
Shadows
Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry...I do always check my nominations on the list of songs that have made the top ten, and I did check for Red House, but in a moment of incredible stupidity, I completely missed it. So I'm sorry about that..

OLD 55
"Elenore" by The Turtles. They rhymed better and etcetera. AND 'intoxicate me' with 'your folks hate me' - but I love it One of my all time favorites from the 60s. They were a great Group. In fact, I'd much rather listen to them than Led Bloody Zeppelin. Boooring - even though 'Immigrant Song' did make my short list, behind Sunny Came Home, but I managed to snap back to reality. I'm not brainwashed by FM Jocks. In fact I think you're all old enough to know the truth now. You'd better sit down Kids. There never was a real Led Zeppelin Group. The voices were supplied by The Archies, and a clever Puppet Master and his Team manipulated lifelike figures to simulate 'Live' performances. Something like Milli Vanilli; well sort of, but they didn't dance very well. Tomorrow I'll tell you about the centipede that played Jimi Hendrix's guitar for him. Of course, he took all the credit for it. And Kiss were really the Beatles made up after they made up. And the Rolling Stones did gather moss. They had a moss and peat farm near Paul's estate in Scotland.

edna
I have been swearing at our new, Digital T.V. though. Why do I need two hand controllers with 107 buttons ? I've mastered about 7 of them so far. There never was a real Led Zeppelin Group. The voices were supplied by The Archies, and a clever Puppet Master and his Team manipulated lifelike figures to simulate 'Live' performances. Something like Milli Vanilli; well sort of, but they didn't dance very well. Darryl, you promised not to tell a soul...
OLD 55
Edna, I went back and revealed a few more little known secrets, just to titillate my readers. Whoops ! I didn't mean to mention that my new book - available soon at all good Booksellers - will be published when I think of a suitable Title for it. The one I had in mind got bleeped. Kevin
Good one , Katie ! I'm still waiting for the day that people wake up and realize that Kiss was a parody of rock , and little more , but people went insane. They're still laughing - all the way to the bank ! OLD 55
Brilliant Katie. And I like Kiss - parody or not Kevin - better than Led Zeppelin too ! "I Was Made For Lovin' You Baby" was one of the biggest all time Hits in my home City. It went to #1 and spent 32 weeks in our Charts.

Dappled
Jimi Hendrix Red House was a number 9 in Top Ten list # 15, so it shouldn't have been nominated at all! Edited October 12, 2006 by Guest I just noticed someone else remarked on it before!
RonJonSurfer
It should have been higher anyway, it's a fantastic blues rock effort...as good as it gets.

Farin
With future Chancellor Farin hitting the textbooks (probably the Net nowadays) and not able to run the Top Ten at the moment, I started the voting probably a bit earlier than usual (because of the time difference in Oz and I wanted to go to bed). Who would want to be a chancellor? such a high pressure, everybody hates you, and those who don't, just kiss up to you and want you to do something for them... you always have to explain yourself to millions of people and the press, who are just waiting for you to make a mistake you're never at home always visiting some strange country you never heard of or maybe in a 18h conference disscussing the health system in our country I could think of more pleasent jobs (and some are better paid too )
