Shawna Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 wonderful news, Darryl! I'm so glad things have gone well for you
Elvish Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 Glad to come back to such good news: you've been on my mind a lot, Darryl!
OLD 55 Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE SUCH GREAT FRIENDS I didn't even know this was here until CeeCee told me today. Thanks Ron for starting it and for all you wonderful people for supporting me and my Darling Wife Val. I just showed her and she's overcome by it all. I think she's been through more than I have. Thank you so much from both of us. P.S. Please don't think I'm too 'preachy', but I have a strong belief in God and I'm sure that your prayers, good wishes and positive thoughts all reached Him. Love you all.
edna Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Well, you must have done something, yes... otherwise you wouldn´t have so many friends... So we´re celebrating Darryl´s comeback, safe and sound!!
Levis Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Hmmm... that would explain the itchy toes
Levis Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Go to bed, Kevin! It's some unearthly hour in Japan. Don't you feel sleepy?
OLD 55 Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 I told Val that we're pretty close here and we sometimes refer to ourselves as the Songfacts 'Family'. She said "I wonder how you'd all be at a party together ?" I thought it was a strange question and I said "do you mean we'd all have something to talk about", and she said "no - who'd choose the music to play". Thanks again everyone for the messages here, PTs and Emails.
katie_sane Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 She said "I wonder how you'd all be at a party together ?" I thought was a strange question and I said "do you mean we'd all have something to talk about", and she said "no - who'd choose the music to play". Great to see you here Darryl!
RonJonSurfer Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 I told Val that we're pretty close here and we sometimes refer to ourselves as the Songfacts 'Family'. She said "I wonder how you'd all be at a party together ?" I thought was a strange question and I said "do you mean we'd all have something to talk about", and she said "no - who'd choose the music to play". Thanks again everyone for the messages here, PTs and Emails. Do I understand this to mean...."Party at O55"s house????"
rtstuff Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Party at Darryl's!!! Wow cool man. Let's see OLD 55 will supply the Elvis and other Rock-a-Billy hits, RonJon you bring the surf music, and I will tag along with Fosters. Uncle Joe can bring the Philly sound and our British folks can supply the British invasion sound. Sweet Jane can throw in a little Janis and the rest of the Factors can party down. Man this sound awesome. rtstuff Brisbane would never be the same after the Factors hit the beaches.
Jenny Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 I can't see a better reason to have a songfacts party/meet and greet! Can I play some cheesy '80's stuff please?
Tenacious_Peaches Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Of course you can, Jenny. I think we should work out a spectacular 80s dance routine to raise Darryl's spirits. You can do the Running Man and I can do the Cabbage Patch!
Jenny Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 I can do a mean Roger Rabbit, too!!! If laughter is the best medicine, then Darryl, laughing at my dancing will keep you alive until you're Old155!
Uncle Joe Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 I hear that Laurie does a mean "Elaine".
daslied Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Holy crap, my wife did a full on Elaine at our wedding. It was then that I was secure in my decision.
OLD 55 Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 Party on ! Sounds great. If any of you ever DO get to Brisbane, Australia Val and I would LOVE to see you in person. We even have a spare room. The planned music (and dancing) sounds great; our 3 eldest 'Kids' all grew up on 80s Music so that won't be out of place. But you've gotta tell me: What's an Elaine
edna Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Sue, he´s alive and kicking in the TopTen threads...
OLD 55 Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 Thanks Shawna. So that's an Elaine ! Thanks edna. I am still alive and kicking. THANKS EVERYONE FROM DARRYL, VAL & FAMILY.
