Hard to know with the Beatles (and lots of other mid /late 60s Bands) whether their songs contain drug references or not ! Maybe John and Paul are just tired in that pic. Too much songwriting ? They sure look a bit out of it. I don't think "Puff" is anything more than a simple tale about a boy growing up. I always feel sorry for the Dragon. 3, 4 and 9 to go. The one I thought of was a big 1970s Disco/ Dance type Hit and really has much the same title as the Dave Clark song. ................................................
