Kevin
Psyco , ... choose a tune ! Save the sermons for Sunday ! Next up : The Who : 5:15 Why should I care, why should I care? Girls of fifteen Sexually knowing The ushers are sniffing Eau-de-cologning The seats are seductive Celibate sitting Pretty girls digging Prettier women. Magically bored On a quiet street corner Free frustration In our minds and our toes Quiet stormwater M-m-my generation Uppers and downers Either way blood flows. Inside outside. Leave me alone. Inside outside. Nowhere is home. Inside outside, Where have I been? Out of my brain on the five fifteen. On a raft in the quarry Slowly sinking. On the back of a lorry Holy hitching. Dreadfully sorry Apple scrumping. Born in the war Birthday punching. He man drag In the glittering ballroom Gravely outrageous In my high heel shoes Tightly undone They know what they're showing Sadly ecstatic That their heroes are news. Why should I care? Kevin
OK , let's pick it back up ! Crocodile Rock Music by Elton John Lyrics by Bernie Taupin Available on the album Don't Shoot Me I'm Only The Piano Player  I remember when rock was young Me and Suzie had so much fun holding hands and skimming stones Had an old gold Chevy and a place of my own But the biggest kick I ever got was doing a thing called the Crocodile Rock While the other kids were Rocking Round the Clock we were hopping and bopping to the Crocodile Rock Well Crocodile Rocking is something shocking when your feet just can't keep still I never knew me a better time and I guess I never will Oh Lawdy mama those Friday nights when Suzie wore her dresses tight and the Crocodile Rocking was out of sight But the years went by and the rock just died Suzie went and left us for some foreign guy Long nights crying by the record machine dreaming of my Chevy and my old blue jeans But they'll never kill the thrills we've got burning up to the Crocodile Rock Learning fast as the weeks went past we really thought the Crocodile Rock would last
Steel2Velvet
Sultans of Swing - Dire Straits You get a shiver in the dark It's raining in the park but meantime South of the river you stop and you hold everything A band is blowing Dixie double four time You feel alright when you hear that music ring You step inside but you don't see too many faces Coming in out of the rain to hear the jazz go down Too much competition, too many other places But not too many horns can make that sound Way on downsouth; way on downsouth London town You check out Guitar George he knows all the chords Mind he's strictly rhythm he doesn't want to make it cry or sing And an old guitar is all he can afford When he gets up under the lights to play his thing And Harry doesn't mind if he doesn't make the scene He's got a daytime job, he's doing alright He can play honky tonk just like anything Saving it up for Friday night With the Sultans; with the Sultans of Swing And a crowd of young boys they're fooling around in the corner Drunk and dressed in their best brown baggies and their platform soles The don't give a damn about any trumpet playing band It ain't what they call rock and roll And the Sultans played Creole And then the man he steps right up to the microphone And says at last just as the time bell rings 'Thank you .. goodnight .. now it's time to go home' and he makes it fast whith one more thing 'We are the Sultans; we are the Sultans of Swing'

Kevin
...and now, a 'waltz' for the lovers out there ... Your Song Music by Elton John Lyrics by Bernie Taupin Available on the album Elton John  It's a little bit funny this feeling inside I'm not one of those who can easily hide I don't have much money but boy if I did I'd buy a big house where we both could live If I was a sculptor, but then again, no Or a man who makes potions in a travelling show I know it's not much but it's the best I can do My gift is my song and this one's for you And you can tell everybody this is your song It may be quite simple but now that it's done I hope you don't mind I hope you don't mind that I put down in words How wonderful life is while you're in the world I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss Well a few of the verses well they've got me quite cross But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song It's for people like you that keep it turned on So excuse me forgetting but these things I do You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue Anyway the thing is what I really mean Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

Otokichi
Since these are the years of uncertainty, here's an answer to "the safe life" from Mary-Chapin Carpenter: I took a walk in the rain one day on the wrong side of the tracks I stood on the rails till I saw that train Just to see how my heart would react Now some people say that you shouldn't tempt fate And for them I would not disagree But I never learned nothing from playing it safe I say fate should not tempt me I take my chances, I don't mind working without a net I take my chances, I take my chances every chance I get I sat alone in the dark one night, tuning in by remote I found a preacher who spoke of the light but there was brimstone in his throat He'd show me the way according to him in return for my personal check I flipped my channel back to CNN and I lit another cigarette I take my chances, forgiveness doesn't come with a debt I take my chances, I take my chances every chance I get I've crossed lines of words and wire and both have cut me deep I've been frozen out and I've been on fire and the tears are mine to weep Now I can cry until I laugh and laugh until I cry So cut the deck right in half, I'll play from either side I take my chances, I pay my dollar and I place my bet I take my chances, I take my chances every chance I get I take my chances, I don't cling to remorse or regret I take my chances, I take my chances every chance I get I take my chances I take my chances :guitar:
Tenacious_Peaches
I renounce this thread. I turned on Dick Clark's Rockin' New Years Eve show ten minutes before midnight. He's been very sick and he looked and sounded terrible. The poor thing. I've never seen him look even close to his age, but he did tonight. I PRAISE DICK CLARK! Bless him for his contribution to music for all these years.
