Jenny Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 Blech...don't want to talk about it.....
MarcM Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 High sixties and partly cloudy with a 30% chaince of rain through Friday.
Shawna Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 it's supposed to rain here Sunday. As if.
sadlady Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 it's about 20F right now, but it's supposed to drop like a son-of-a-b*tch today. we finally got some snow.. they predicted over a foot, we got about 7 or 8 inches, but the wind was gusting at 50mph. so, it's a little bit messed up out there. but it's beautiful.. i love winter and snow...
_Laurie_ Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 We got about a foot of snow overnight, and it's still snowing....
Sweet Jane 61 Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 Same here Laurie! We are snowed in but safe and sound. The snow has slowed down some, but getting dug out is not going to be fun. The Valentine Blizzard of 2007!! Brrrrrrrrrrrr!!
_Laurie_ Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 (edited) Everything is closed or cancelled today....No one on the roads, so they better get the plows out and get those roads clear....I don't want to be snowed in for too long... Pssst...did you see the Cabana boy the agency sent you?.... he's in the "Craving" thread... Edited February 14, 2007 by Guest
Sweet Jane 61 Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 Same here, not much open other than stores and gas stations. The plows are out but we have a lot of wind so the drifting is terrible too. I can take today snowed in, but want back out tomorrow. Weird not being at work.
Uncle Joe Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 We had a lovely ice storm overnight and into this morning. Treaturous outside. Joann is home and it's a warm, cozy Valentine's Day inside.
gman Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 I want to be a weatherman in my next life. They predicted 12"+ here in CT and we actally got around 3-4" and lots of ice!!! Id rather have the foot of snow. Cold and windy too. Almost spring and cant wait!!
Jenny Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 It looks like the snow let up, but we got lots of ice and then snow on top. All totaled, about a foot, I guess. If it lets up soon, life will be back to normal tomorrow.
Shawna Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 I have a storm to report. That's right, here in perpetually sunny Phoenix. It lasted about 15 minutes, then moved through and is now completely gone.
CanAm Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 Bone-chillingly, brass monkey cojone-freezingly, teeth chatteringly, eye-wateringly, mind-numbingly, as cold as a witches thorax (ingly)cold! -21C without windchill. With windchill, -30C. Brrrr!!! My wife and I are wearing sweaters indoors, while my 9 year old son is running around wearing only a pair of boxer shorts. Boy, I wish I had his metabolism! Even the 2 glasses of champagne have not helped warm the cockles of my heart. I'll have to put my wife in charge of that. I really love Valentine's Day.
Kevin Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 No pity , Calgary ! I was there at Xmas and you had early April-like weather - +15 or so ... It is a prarie winter afterall , ...enjoy ! Got any decent snow , yet , though ? Helps take the 'edge' off things ... !
_Laurie_ Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 Close to 2 feet of snow here in western ny.
Uncle Joe Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 I had a great morning. The 3" thick ice on my car came off in large slabs after a little well-placed pounding. I didn't even work up a sweat. I owe it all to you, my fellow SFers. Thank you for your prayers and good thoughts.
Kevin Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 (edited) I hope you get 6''- it'll give you a normal Canadian experience and broaden your horizens , eh , Joe !? Edited February 15, 2007 by Guest

_Laurie_ Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 FREEEEEZing....this is suppose to be the last week of this weather...Today it took me 45 minutes to drive from a meeting, that usually only takes me 15 minutes to get home....Bad white outs, cars were in the ditches, people running into the snow plows coz the couldn't see ahead of them...very very bad..I didn't even know I was at a redlight untill I was almost underneath it....tonight and tomorrow with the wind chill 20 below....brrrrrrrr. I better get some wine...
Kevin Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Honestly , though , I think the days of Canadians enjoying telling others their extreme winter stories are becoming numbered . For the last 10 years or so , the U.S. has had far more extreme and unusual situations , generally , while Canada has been rather mild compared to it's past norms .
Uncle Joe Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Yet it's an Alberta Clipper that brings us the frigid weather this morning.
katie_sane Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 A mild 32C here today. We've had a lot of thunderstorms and lightning lately, tropical type weather, which is strange for us in the south.
_Laurie_ Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 On the news just now...our County is in a state of emergency for tonight and tomorrow...I'm home now, and it was very scary driving....I went under 20mph the whole way...
