MuzikTyme Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 Definitely a subjective conclusion. But my ten favorite rock bands in no particular order and titles that no music lover should be without include: The Beatles The Rolling Stones The Allman Bros. Lynryd Skynryd Aerosmith Pink Floyd The Eagles Led Zeppelin Creedence Clearwater Revival Rush I consider these bands the giants of rock-n-roll. It's hard to put the best bands in a category of ten and not leave out ones equally as good. But these are the first ten bands that came to my mind.
_Jayson_ Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 Well I agree with most of the bands metioned. In my opinion I would add Black Sabbath. They are the founders of Metal.
MuzikTyme Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 Don't get me wrong Jayson, I love Black Sabbath and have all of their works. It's just that I put them in a different category than rock-n-roll because I think they took it to a new level. Like you said, "metal" or heavy metal.
_Jayson_ Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 I see what you're saying MuzicTyme. They did create a whole new type of music.
Ken Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 No two lists would be identical. Mine would read: Kiss AC/DC The Ramones Talking Heads Eagles Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band The Sex Pistols UB40 B-52's Jimmy Buffet and the Coral Reefer Band. I'd be surprised if anyone's top 10 mirrored that, but beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder. I don't put a lot of stock in top 10 lists, because, as previously stated, it is all subjective. However.... If you view AC/DC's "Stiff Upper Lip- LIVE" DVD, there are a squillion (don't ask for a numerical quantification, there was a lot of people there) folks in the audience. They have made SOMEONE's top 10 list. Take Care, Ken.

Slothchild64 Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 He's definitely done some memorable tunes and was a pioneer in the whole theatrical rock concert thing. I remember every year of highschool on the last day we'd blast "School's Out" in the cafeteria!
