  1. has anyone mentioned Amanda by Boston?
  2. Ok, this song is full of metaphors and i was wondering if anyone would give me their opinion as to what they thought they meant. here are the lyrics: We sent out the SOS call It was a quater past four In the morning When the storm broke our second anchor line. Four months at sea. Four months of calm seas Only to be pounded in the shallows Off of the tip of Montauk Point. They call them rogues. They travel fast and alone, One hundred foot faces Of God's good ocean gone wrong What they call love is a risk, Cause you will always get hit Out of nowhere By some wave and end up on your own. The hole in the hull defied the crews attempts To bail us out. And flooded the engines and radio And half buried bow. Your tongue is a rudder. It steers the whole ship. Sends your words past your lips Or keeps them safe behind your teeth. But the wrong words will strand you. Come off course while you sleep. Sweep your boat out to sea Or dashed it to bits on the reef. The vessel groans The ocean pressures its frame. Off the port I see the lighthouse Through the sleet and the rain. And I wish for one more day To give my love and repay debts. But the morning finds our bodies Washed up thirty miles west. They say that the captain Stays fast with the ship Through still and storm. But this ain't the Dakota. And the water is cold. We won't have to fight for long. This is the end. This story's old But it goes on and on Until we disappear. Calm me and let me taste The salt that you breathed While you were underneath. I am the one who haunts your dreams Of mountains sunk below the sea. I spoke the words but never Gave a thought to what they all could mean. I know that this is what you want. A funeral keeps both of us apart. You know that you are not alone. Need you like water in my lungs. This is the end.
  3. i agree with everyone who said it was stupid that she blamed it on her band...that was stupid
  4. I was looking up this song on songfacts, and most people thought that the song was about drugs, which is probably true. But what I was wondering was if anyone had any interpretation for these lines: Centuries are what it meant to me A cemetery where I marry the sea Stranger things could mever change my mind I've got to take it on the otherside
  5. DISPATCH "Gut the Van" it's probably the best live album ever. these guys have so much raw talent and this cd proves it.
  6. I really love "Neil Young Unplugged" from MTV's Unplugged.
  7. i've heard that in one of their video's Chris Martin sang backwards so when they played the video in reverse it appeared as if he was really singing, is this true, and if so , what video was it?
  8. i really dont think this band sounds much like pink floyd

  10. Has anyone mentioned "Hash Pipe" by Weezer?
  11. I really like whoever suggested "Under the Bridge", that's a great one. My suggestions are: I Miss You- Incubus Brick- Ben Folds Five Amsterdam- Coldplay She Talks To Angels- The Black Crows
  12. i've tried posting a message just like this, but no one responded...so i guess that means no one here went. but i bought the DVD that had the concert at the hatch shell, and another one somewhere else...it's pretty cool.
  13. The Beach Boys have a lot of good Christmas songs....
  14. I'm in love with this song by Secret Machines, it's called "Nowhere Again" I think, I'm not exactly sure about the name. It's the only song I've heard by them, and I'm not even sure if they're a new band or not. I also really like the song "Slow Hands" by Interpol. It's pretty cool.
  15. Someone told me the other day that the band 311's name came from this: the 11th letter of the alphabet is K and K three times is obviously KKK. Is this really what their name means?
  16. Forgive me if this topic has been discussed already, but I was wondering what everyone's favorite war protest song is. If you don't have a favorite protest song, then what's your favorite song written for a specific generation?
  17. this may sound stupid, but songs by the spice girls sometimes get me pumped up. at this one swim meet of mine, they started to play "wannabe" over the speakers, and all of the girls got so excited, it was really cool.
  18. I only know one of their songs, "What I Got". But I like what i've heard.
  19. The two are so completely different. It's almost like they're two different songs. The mood of the songs is the complete opposite, so it's kinda hard for me to compare one to the other.
  20. I've got his album "O". It's pretty awesome, there's just something to his music that sucks me in. I can't explain it. What other cd's does he have out??
  21. What about that song by JoJo "Get Out (Leave). I think that one would be appropriate for you situation.
  22. She didnt used to be as bad as she is now. i think her pre-pop music was fairly decent, if you like newer country. but all of the sudden she decided to change her whole image. i dont know what happened. ::
  23. The first time i saw that video i laughed my butt off. But they show it so often that i can hardly stand it anymore! I hate when that happens to good songs.....
