I've heard a few tracks from the Foo's new album. Dave Grohl said on Fuse that while recording the album with producer Butch Vig (who also produced Nevermind) that he kept having deja vu experiences from the last time they worked together and that they were trying to make a similar sounding record, which can be heard on certain tracks by compare and contrast to those (B-side tracks) on Nevermind.

I've heard good things about Josh, so I'm staying optimistic :)

Chad Smith also said that josh plays keyboard too, I wonder how that'll blend into their classic drum-guitar-bass-voice combo.

I've decided I need to post in this thread more. My recent promotion to head music director of WVFI has just verified my (probably egotistical) concept that I have my thumb on the pulse of modern music. So here's a sampling of good stuff that was released this year that hasn't been mentioned yet:

Forces of the Unseen - Cloud Cult

Broken Mirrors - Rise Against

War In Heaven - The Raveonettes

Heaven's Gonna Happen Now - The Pains of Being Pure At Heart

Waiting For My Chance To Come - Noah and the Whale

Postcards from 1952 - Explosions In The Sky

How To Be A Werewolf - Mogwai

Is It Done - J. Mascis

June Hymn - The Decemberists

Right Before My Eyes - Cage The Elephant

Haile Selassie - Bright Eyes

Rolling In The Deep - Adele

More to come!

Check out this song if you haven't heard it yet. It's great.

Do I remember correctly that you're an Alison Krauss fan?

Yea, I can see that. It's a great album, lots of variety. Some songs they sound like Arcade Fire, some Green Day, some Modest Mouse and some My Morning Jacket.

Every track on that album is awesome.

Just got the new Danger Mouse/Daniele Luppi album (with special guests Jack White and Norah Jones).

Only listened to the first half so far but it is AWESOME.

Who would've thought the combination of Danger Mouse and an Italian composer would make such an excellent combination?

The new Beastie Boys album is fan-freakin'-tastic. I'm not a fan of rap music, but for some reason, I love love love their work. I hope that MCA (Adam Yauch) fully recovers from cancer so that they get back on the road, because that's one group I've never seen live that I'd really love to.

I mean, I liked it. But I didn't exactly think it was anything special. I do LOVE the Beastie Boys though. But this album sounded like all their others. Which is not necessarily a bad thing haha.

I do love "Make Some Noise" though.
