pinkstones
Tim, I couldn't possibly agree with you more. As Samuel Johnson said, "patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel". I can honestly say that I didn't get wrapped up in that because while everyone's natural inclination was to go Rambo on any and all Muslim people they saw because they were angry and they were scared....I chose to refrain. There's a lot of people I had been friends with at the time that I haven't spoken to in nearly 10 years. I began to see people for who they really were, far deeper than the way they presented themselves to society. It disgusted me. So yeah, songs like that just remind me of all that "rah-rah America is the best, yo" crap that permeated the airwaves.
Ombre Vivante
I can appreciate such sentiments being expressed in music, as opposed to carrying it out in real life.

RockyRaccoon
^ "this video isn't available in your country" Probably cause Trace Adkins don't take too kindly to foreigners. How about this?
RockyRaccoon
My favorite part about that video is the camera panning around the pitchers mound while Adkins pretends to dance. And then the breakdown at the end, my God haha. BREAK IT DOWN TRACE.

pinkstones
nope... mind telling me artist and song so that I can investigate further? Swing - Trace Adkins I don't listen to or enjoy country music for the most part, so to me it's crap. You may like it, though. I don't know. MindCrime
She Don't Use Jelly These lyrics are horrible, though this song is meant to be a joke and not to be taken seriously.
blind-fitter
"I Saw The Sign" by Ace Of Base has to be one of the worst songs ever.
Rayzor
"It's A Small World After All" The worst song ever and impossible to get out of your head once it's entered!
Shawna
Even Comfortably Numb? Yeah, unfortunately, all of PF is that way for me. Including "Dark Side of the Moon" and everything else they've ever done. With one weird exception - "Wish You Were Here." And probably that particular exception is due to the fact that I can actually associate a good memory with it rather than the heinousness that comes with the rest of their stuff for me. Again, it's for personal reasons...

Ombre Vivante
"The Politics Of Dancing" is by Re-Flex. It is (or was) out of print and it would fetch high prices. Nowadays, it's kinda cheep at about $100. http://www.amazon.com/Politics-Dancing-Re-Flex/dp/B000002QZO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1278360452&sr=8-

Ombre Vivante
Oh, I agree, it is New Wave Puke Pop, although not nearly as bad as Haysi Fantayzee's "Shiny, Shiny" and Nu Shooz's "I Can't Wait" (the cds are also worthless)

MindCrime
Nu Shooz's "I Can't Wait" I kinda like the singing in this song, but it could do without that African wind instrument, I don't even know what it is called.
Carl
I thought we had a "Worst Cover Songs" thread, but I couldn't find one. Today I accidentally listened to an AC station, and heard a completely unnecessary cover of Against All Odds. I'm not sure who did this, but it was horrible. See, this is Phil's song, pulled from the agony of his first divorce and expressed so genuinely in a way the only someone who has experienced it can. A travesty.
