Ken Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 Tony Baloni and I are practically neighbors..
MuzikTyme Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 I'm certain that some at Songfacts live in a closer proximity than Philly, PA, in accordance to Virginia, where I reside. Not that I mind, Ujoe promises me the best cheese-steak sub, ever! I know, curiousity killed the cat but, the cat WAS hungry!

Tony Baloni Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 (edited) Oh yeah! I forgot about Ken. You shop at the Meijers down the street from me. You know, I used to work at the Coldstone in front of it. Edited September 16, 2008 by Guest
MuzikTyme Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 :guitar: http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=oGAFOz5GA8I Holy snap! Thanks for turning me on to a wonderful pianist, Allen Toussaint. He's smooth as silk and goes beyond cotton!
Tony Baloni Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Who here lives around San Francisco??
MindCrime Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 I think I remember somebody from back in the day who lived in Oakland. I doubt they still post here though.
Lucky Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 I'm not positive, but I believe bazooka is in Northern California. I'm not sure how close he is to San Fran though.
Mike Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Yeah, Foolonthehill and Lea are closest to me. I'm just north of Seattle about 20 miles.
Foolonthehill Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 yeah that's not far from me. it would be a 1.5 hour drive I think, if not for the border. last time I had to drive across we waited for 4 hours
bazooka Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 Who here lives around San Francisco?? I'm around sixty miles North of San Francisco, in an area renowned horticulturist Luther Burbank called "the chosen spot of all this earth as far as Nature is concerned." Detroit is not very close, though.
Steel2Velvet Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I'm around sixty miles North of San Francisco, in an area renowned horticulturist Luther Burbank called "the chosen spot of all this earth as far as Nature is concerned." Detroit is not very close, though. I always thought Redding, California to be one of the richest horticultural locations in the USA. Seems almost anything will grow in that climate.
Tony Baloni Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 For some reason I thought more people here were from around the SF bay area. If anybody's ever over there, hit me the f up.
Lucky Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 There are a bunch of us down south Tony. C'mon down.
bazooka Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I'm moving. There goes the neighborhood. Just kiddin'. I'm a Northern California native, and not real well travelled, but the San Francisco Bay Area and its environs are pretty damned all right, in terms of climate and culture. I don't know anybody who's relocated here that has thought it was a bad move.
MarcM Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 iSNT IT, FOR THE MOST PART, MORE EXPENSIVE THERE THAN MOST PARTS OF sO cAL? oR IS THAT AREAS LIKE mARIN? i HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS BEAUTIFUL UP THERE.
bazooka Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 To anyone outside of California, housing prices here are shocking. In west Sonoma County where I live, prices haven't dropped as much as elsewhere. This area is an odd mix of rich hippies and old-time farms, New Age philosophy and apple orchards converted to vineyards, redwood groves and sheep on the hillsides. Ten minutes from the Ocean. Little more than an hour from San Francisco. ( Not my property. I wish.)
Tony Baloni Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 Dude I'm pumped, I'm probably leaving tomorrow.
MarcM Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Are you ready for culture shock? Unless you are going to Oakland, No Cal is not anything like Detroit. Come to think of it, I dont think much else is close to Detroit.....
