TheLizard
I actually would love to be a rock star. I'd settle for living off my music, though. Sadly, neither are probable.

_Laurie_
Actually I've always wanted to be one of those cool back-up singers instead of a lead singer....I could just do the cool moves, and sing along with the others....I've always liked Linda Ronstadt's voice, so I guess I would pick her if I had to pick one person.... skybluesky
WHOOO HOOO LINDA!!! I would like to be either Carly Simon or Meg White.
MuzikTyme
. . .lived just the sort of life he's wanted to, the rest of the world be damned. That's what a Rock Star does, isn't it? I couldn't agree more and, yes! I'm surprised Richards is still alive, much less being able to strum Angie as well, if not better, than he did back in the '70s.

blue_n_white
Back-up singers can be very cool. The coolest were the Pips of Gladys Knight and the Pips.
Batman
I've gotta say, I'm not much of a fan of him, but I would really like to be Snoop Dogg. But being a rapper, he's not really a "rock star" so I suppose he doesn't belong in this thread. So my answer to the question would have to be...Jimi Hendrix. MuzikTyme
I can sit back at times, listening to music with a great lead vocalist. I think to myself how wonderful it would be . . . . . . to sing, with great guttural growl and pin-point highs. To captivate a sold-out show, while making hundreds of thousand dollars all-the-while having an entire entourage of naked groupies waiting for you back-stage is, well, something that I could get used to . . . Over time, of course.
_Laurie_
And the groupies Marcus?
Lea
Well... I'd rather be a great and famous lyricist but if I have to be a "star" I think I'd like to have Rodger Waters talent as a great lyricist and bass player. I wouldn't want his personality, but his talent, yes. If I had to sing, Linda Ronstadt or Barbra Streisand. I have always been a Ronstadt fan and I think she has a beautiful voice. As for Streisand, I don't care for the kind of music she sings as a whole but she has an amazing voice.
Otokichi
Old Folkie that I am, it's a tossup between Jim Croce or Harry Chapin. (Otherwise, a member of Great Big Sea.)
Ombre Vivante
To want to be someone else is to not want to be myself. If I were a Rock star, it would be me - only in Rock star format I would probably be one of those low-key/niche kind of musicians who would not be recognised out on the street, except maybe by fans of the genre of music I would specify in. Ombre Vivante
... and my stage name would be "Bitter Almonds"
Tenacious_Peaches
I would totally be a Bitter Almonds groupie. Hell, I already am. Te extrano, darling.
Ombre Vivante
I'd pull you up to the stage to play the tubular bells, Ten. I'd give you the mic so I can stage-dive I'd also push to be the opening act for Terri Nunn at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano... I'd play that gig for FREE

Super Ry 71
I don't really care for money or fame...well, a little fame, but the money is still only a hobby. If I had to pick, I'd like the stage antics of Peter Gabriel--minus all the costumes. And the guitar playing of Pete Townshend--minus smashing thus said guitar.
