  1. They were formed in London in 2002, but have at least one Swedish member - I love Golden Touch too, their album is great
  2. Katies Melua acoustic tracks are magical. Beautiful lyrics, and just lovely to sit and listen to in a quiet moment. "Faraway Voice" done acoustically makes me cry, very touching song. If you haven't heard any of her stuff then I'd suggest you do!
  3. Their album is excellent, I was thinking about getting tickets to see them live but after your experiences I don't think I'll bother!
  4. It's great that you can offer this to people who are potentially fans. Do you record in a studio? Don't you have fees to be etc? Just curious as to how you can afford to offer these no charge?

  6. I'm too afraid to clikc the link posted by XXX as I'm at work and as the link says intellectual whores I'd probably be sacked! Friends with benefits can be good, hell very good...but can get very complicated!!
  7. I've only seen the pilot episode, and I really enjoyed it. Although the characters are very high class and don't accurately show the desperate house wife in reality - wish I looked like one of them!! Don't give away any storylines!!!
  8. Raiders Of The Lost Ark The Lost Boys
  9. I just bought Garfield, King Arthur (Directors Cut), and KISS Live in Las Vegas. I've seen Garfield before, just wholehearted family comedy, made me laugh and that was a good enough reason for me to buy it. King Arthur I've not seen yet, I like historical films, but I've heard from a friend that it isn't true to the legend, which is a shame if he's right. Disappointed with the KISS DVD as it's only a snippet of a concert with 4 songs only, and I must have misread the packaging

  13. After surfing the net a bit today, I accidentally stumbled across a band called 'Curse Icon'. Has anyone heard of them? I quite liked what I heard... There are a few samples of their music here >> Curse Icon Extracted from their website: "Curse Icon is a 5-piece original rock band from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Keeping a contemporary and marketable sensibility to their song writing, the music has a bold alternative rock foundation and branches out into the goth, metal and industrial genres. As a unit, the band members craft and embrace an unrivaled, ahead-of-the-curve musical style suited to serve an exceedingly diverse audience. The band members come from diverse musical backgrounds which, when united, create some of the most captivating musical experiences. Embracing their own uniqueness, each member contributes their own musical style which seamlessly fuses together to form an unparalleled sound. Lead singer Kiana's dynamic and powerful vocal expressions compliment the band's music adding a refined attitude that is seemingly innovative yet reminiscent of the greatest female rock singers of all time. Her sensual concoction of power and melody intoxicates the listener and leaves them desperately wanting more. Guitar player Eric has been playing and composing music since the age of 13. After an introduction to music at the height of the metal scene, Eric quickly embraced his instrument and progressively honed his skills into his present eclectic style. Eric brings a masterful sonic landscape to Curse Icon's rich sound. Influenced by the Hardcore, Industrial and 90's Grunge movements, guitar player Sean adds an exciting and powerful dimension to the music. Juxtaposed to Eric's playing style, Sean's meticulous sonic attack delivers a crisp punch to the band's epic sound. Synth player Leo is a classically trained pianist who serves up his own rendition of in-your-face playing which is cultivated by the goth and industrial scenes. Rounding out Curse Icon is Marco who combines electric and acoustic percussion with a mix of loops and samples bringing to the front line an alluring pulse of rhythm and textures. He is a solid, hard-hitting drummer who adds substance and a strongly rooted foundation to the band's sound. Curse Icon continues to attract a vast audience, leaving fans eagerly hungry for more. With powerful performances and strong song writing being their most impressive attributes, Curse Icon is quickly becoming recognized as a big player in today?s market."
  14. Hmmm I was going to ask where anyone compared Amy Lee to the likes of Britney Spears? At the end of the day it's personal preference. You may like Amy Lee, but others may deny she has any talent (not me btw) as it's all down to what we personally think sounds good. I think KISS are fabulous but plenty of people I know think they are awful - I don't have any problem with that..
  15. Here's mine in no particular order: 1. Back in Black 2. Rock N Roll Ain't Noise Pollution 3. Hells Bells 4. Highway to Hell 5. T.N.T. 5. Dirty Deeds (Done Dirt Cheap) 7. Ride On 8. Sin City 9. Have a Drink on Me 10. Thunderstruck Big Balls should have been in there too, but Top 11 songs doesn't sound as good!!
  16. What link? edit: Oh you mean the depression help forum? lol...coincedence...I run those forums as I don't think there are enough 'safe' forums for people to discuss their depression etc
  17. hmm... I'd still rather listen to 'Pieces of me' or 'La La' than any Britney, Christina or Jessica song
  18. Roxy Music get my vote, although split up in the year I was born, apparently I was played their tunes while in utero Guess it continued after birth! I have a huge Roxy Music framed print up on the wall in my hallway, I absolutely love the Avalon and Siren albums. Bryan Ferry still rocks to this day, his album "As Time Goes By" with songs from way back was excellent. He and Roxy Music are the first person / band I remember ever hearing on the radio. It had a huge effect as he has so much yearning and longing in his voice. "Secretly, I wanted to look like Jimi Hendrix, but I could never quite pull it off." - Bryan Ferry
  19. Oh my god.... I'd never listened to any Queensryche before... But I got my first track tonight and it was 'Silent Lucidity'...I can't believe I'm in tears Its gorgeous...sooo beautiful!! I've just ordered their Greatest Hits album
  20. "Street Spirit (Fade Out)" by Radiohead "Vincent (Starry Starry Night)" by Don McLean "Teardrop" by Massive Attack

    Hanson

I loved Mmm Bop when it first came out - I very quickly went off it as it just seemed to sickly sweet. Not taken any notice of them for years, and then this evening I was flicking through the music channels and saw the video for their new song 'Penny And Me' and I really enjoyed it!! Surprised myself - although I'm not going to hold my breath for many more of their songs I like...
  23. Grover Washington Jr played Sax on "Just The Two Of Us" with Bill Withers.
  24. "We all live in a yellow submarine...a toilet painted green...a bubble gum machine.." Takes me back to junior/primary school.... I don't mind the song, not one of my faves, but it has sentimental value for me
