Batman
Calling all bluegrass fans... There was once a time when I despised country music, and the southern half of the United States in general. But over the summer I took a trip to Nashville and I've changed my ways! I found that there is such a thing as good country music. I also found out that I like bluegrass a lot. But I'm still very ignorant towards the genre. I know it's a stereotypical song but I like "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" a lot, and I'm looking for tunes (or albums, if possible) in the same vein. Also, I thought there was no such thing as good modern country. But alas! I was wrong. I'm looking for some stuff that sounds similar to "Wagon Wheel" by Old Crow Medicine Show" and Ryan Adams. http://youtube.com/watch?v=dRnoh86FD2A Help? daslied
Anything with Jerry Douglas playing straight bluegrass will blow your mind. Nobody should be allowed to play a dobro like that.
Otokichi
You might also check out Alison Krauss with or without Union Station. Then there's Nickel Creek, which has a large following.

bluesboy
The Osborne Brothers, J.D. Crowe, Doyle Lawson are a few artists to check out. I've followed Old and in the Way since 1975 with Vassar Clements on fiddle, Jerry Garcia and Peter Rowan on guitar and David Grisman on Mandolin. David Grisman also has his own record label called Acoustic Disc . Fingerpickin' is a branch of bluegrass with the likes of Norman Blake , Tony Rice and Doc Watson. Also Rounder Records has lots of bluegrass. Here's a couple of 7 day audio samples. Blackberry Blossom - Norman Blake and Tony Rice Under the Double Eagle - Norman Blake :guitar:

skybluesky
Indeed, Batman. Indeed. She can rock out with Rilo Kiley, sing sweet blue grass, and she played a scout in Troop Beverly Hills. I adore her. Rise Up With Fists This one is a little more country tinged, but I dig the Hee-Haw inspired video Edited October 25, 2007 by Guest Laying down youtubage
