The Seeker Posted July 16, 2009 Author Report Posted July 16, 2009 We Choose The Moon An (official) website "recreating the historic Apollo 11 mission to the Moon in real time". Looks really really cool so far
The Seeker Posted July 16, 2009 Author Report Posted July 16, 2009 ...Apollo 11 was launched 1 minute ago
Kevin Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 I've been checking in on that site too , Seeker - it's cool listening to the communications . Wish I'd seen the launch , though . I guess after the 20th , people will be able to check out the mission at their own pace according to the site .
MindCrime Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 Why Chicks cry (in comic books) I read the first 3 and then figured it was too much like Mary Worth to continue.
Kevin Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 For those interested in eclipses , we'll have one passing through Asia on the 22end . Levis , I 'll bet you wish you were home for a holiday , because this one would have looked cool where you are from. It's also supposed to be the longest in duration for a century at nearly 6 min. Tokyo will only get a partial 75% eclipse . A cool site that shows you what it will look like in different places : http://www.shadowandsubstance.com/index.html
Farin Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 A cool site that shows you what it will look like in different places : http://www.shadowandsubstance.com/index.html nice animation
Farin Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 enough of all the bad news: here's stories that made us smile
Tenacious_Peaches Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 I love that the largest skinny dip was held at White Tail resort.
pinkstones Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 http://listen.grooveshark.com GREAT site for listening to music. Better than YouTube in that what YouTube doesn't have, this site usually does. It's free to sign up. One of the top 5 sites I visit every day.
Farin Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 ^ SF gets their streaming mp3s from there and so far, IF I used it I did so without signing up... is there any advantage to registering?
Shawna Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 Farin, whatever song you want to hear, you can just look up the Songfacts on it and there'll be a grooveshark there. And you're already registered.
Farin Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 that's what I said, nah? and Songfacts is among my browser's search engines, so I'm using that all the time anyway I just wondered what they're offering for a registered user
pinkstones Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 You can make playlists so it's almost like an online iTunes, really. When you play a song, it'll give you a list of other songs you might like if you like that one. It doesn't cost anything to register so it's not like it'll be putting you out. And while Songfacts uses Grooveshark, sometimes the files linked to songs aren't right or they're live versions/remixes. On Grooveshark, you have ALL versions available to you, and not everyone song on Songfacts has a Grooveshark embedded in it.
Farin Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 ah yes, I see... thanks I think I'll stick to last.fm for the recommendation and similar stuffs

Lea Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 Oh goodie just what I need. More time wasting websites
Lea Posted August 7, 2009 Report Posted August 7, 2009 (edited) Oh goodie just what I need. More time wasting websites Well I finally got time to waste last night and checked out the cool links. Word of warning, don't watch the insect videos or read about those insects just before you go to bed I had Giant Japanese Beetles Hornets and Hammer ants chasing me all night I fixed it dot com is ok before bed (some funny stuff) but ya might want to save the insects for daylight hours Edited August 7, 2009 by Guest I had beetles on the brain :)
The Seeker Posted September 4, 2009 Author Report Posted September 4, 2009 (edited) Okay... this is REALLY REALLY cool. You know these 3D pictures where you have to put on that funny look and then you may or may not see weird shapes? This is a bit like it, only you actually see a REAL picture in 3D, like you were watching a 3D movie with those glasses. You have to cross your eyes (really cross them, I think it's a bit different from all these regular 3D images) until you see three fuzzy pictures instead of one, and then stare at the middle one. It'll probably seem a little pointless at first because it remains fuzzy for quite a while, but... TRY it. 3D Picture edit: And here are a couple more, because clicking Next doesn;t work. Tenacious_Peaches Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 Awesome. I'm at work crossing my eyes like a moron. My contacts are about to fall out of my head.
The Seeker Posted September 4, 2009 Author Report Posted September 4, 2009 You can do it?? I'm showing this to everyone that's crossing my path right now and they're all unable to cross their eyes
