edna Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 Thank you, Farin... I'll try to post one tomorrow...
edna Posted September 28, 2012 Report Posted September 28, 2012 OK, post one... I'll post mine later...
edna Posted September 28, 2012 Report Posted September 28, 2012 This band started as a four members band performing in New York City opening for Moby Grape.
Zabadak Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 Who are/were Jefferson Airplane? :guitar:
edna Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 No, they used to open for Moby Grape in the A Go-Go, a club in NYC. Then they became a big band. Very famous in the late sixties/early seventies. Plenty of people.
edna Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 ...and the founder played with Dylan.
edna Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 So you should know by now who he is...
Rayzor Posted September 29, 2012 Author Report Posted September 29, 2012 Couldn't be Jefferson Airplaine because a couple of the past members went on to found Moby Grape. "Alot of members" could mean Sly & Family Stone (tons of people) or even Lynnyrd Skynnyrd. But when you say played with Dylan it makes me think along the lines of Buffalo Springfield. Just a shot...
edna Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 Chicago? :frenchie: hehehe... but no. The founder of the band played Hammond organ on "Like A Rolling Stone" in 1965 with Bob Dylan.
Farin Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 Who's Blood, Sweat & Tears? (I looked that up )
edna Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 (edited) I always knew you'd know, Martin... ...even if you looked it up) Al Kooper founded Blood,Sweat&Tears. An amazing guitar player as well. Edited September 29, 2012 by Guest
Farin Posted October 4, 2012 Report Posted October 4, 2012 right David Bowie worked on an English version of a French song, but never submitted it, because Paul Anka already finished his version called this. (Bonus if you know the original French one as well)
edna Posted October 4, 2012 Report Posted October 4, 2012 What is "My Way" ("Comme D'Habitude", Claude François)? I might be wrong... it's just the most famous french song by paul Anka...
Zabadak Posted October 4, 2012 Report Posted October 4, 2012 Yep, that's right! I've seen a film he made to go along with it - basically, it is him singing in English over a French version...
edna Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 (edited) The French lyrcs are the opposite of the English lyrics... in franch it's a depressing story of a heartbroken man... "Comme d'habitude" - Claude François So Martin, I'm up? Edited October 6, 2012 by Guest
edna Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 She was inducted to the Country Music Hall of Fame ten years after she died.
_Laurie_ Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 Oh I think I know this one! Who is Patsy Cline?
